1. SEC-- Some thing never change--best conference every year.

2. Pac-10-- They'll finish at around 5 by year's end as usual--too many slow-footed Samoans.

3. Big 12-- OU, Texas, and a bunch of nobodies.

4. Big East-- Should be 2nd or 3rd--good coaching and nice teams.

5. Big Ten-- About right.

6. ACC-- With all the talent in this region, this is the result of shitty
recruiting/coaches.

7. Mountain West-- Who cares?
8. MAC-- Who cares?
9. WAC-- Who cares?
10. Conference USA-- Who cares?
11. Sun Belt-- Who cares?

Yeah ok guy, you obviously hit your head on a variety of large rocks while you fell head first from an extremely steep cliff.

The ACC, woeful positioning in the rankings has nothing to do with "shitty recruiting". The ACC for the most part have had extremely good recruiting classes over the past 5-4 years (especially because of the expansion of the conference).

The ACC problem is that the conference has had dreadful quarterback play for the last few years while other conferences have had notable quarterbacks throughout the conference.

Proof of this is when you even look at this season, Matt Ryan is the only quarterback out of the ACC that is even worth mentioning. QB play in the ACC has been sub par for the last couple of years.

If anything the ACC ranking should be blamed on terrible offensive coaching and quarterback play.

Why you gotta come with personal attacks man? I don't know anybody named cliff and I don't feel on rocks.

Why man? Why?

SEC BITCHES!!!

yeah I fucked up on that one

But to say The ACC is down because of recruiting is just wrong. All the big time programs such as FSU, Miami, V tech, and now Clemson (also throw in G Tech and UNC) have been bringing in substantial amounts of talent. Your assertion that the league is down because of recruiting was just wrong.

And that is why you received personal attacks, because if you REALLY followed college football like I do you would know that the ACC isn't down because due to recruiting.

but you're not blame, a lot of SEC fans neglect college football outside their own conference.

Wrong. I live in SEC/ACC territory. I see almost as many ACC games as I do SEC games.

The best rushing offense in the ACC is owned by Georgia Tech. But they're rushing offense is only ranked 26th nationally. Clemson has the 2nd best ACC rushing offense but nationally, they're only ranked 40th. Wanna know why?

BECAUSE THE ACC IS NOT RECRUITING GOOD OFFENSIVE LINEMEN.

You say there's a lack of good quarterbacks in the ACC--wanna know why?

BECAUSE THE ACC IS NOT RECRUITING GOOD QUARTERBACKS.

Man I know you like to point out how smart you are and how dumb you think other people are but damn--you keep fucking up.

See, you have to RECRUIT good quarterbacks and offensive linemen in order to have them. That's how it works.

SEC BITCHES!!!

You don't have to recruit stellar offensive lineman in order to have a successful rushing attack guy:hmm:

All the player needs to do is fit the system and pick up his assignments. And there are plenty examples of programs with low ranking offensive lineman (three star or lower) who came out of high school but are apart of successful rushing attacks. Here are just some of the teams out of the top 25 who have had 0,1, or 2 four star or higher rated players on the offensive line over the course of four years (not including this year) and still have successful rushing attacks.

West Virginia
Rutgers
Arkansas
Wisconsin
Cal
Oregon
Clemson
Missouri
Arizona State

Not to mention all the teams outside the top 25 with good rushing attacks who didn't have highly rated OT and OGs on their team.

Illinois (Rashard Mendenhall 536 yards)
Kent State (Eugene Jarvis 539)
Wyoming (Deonte Jackson (537 yards)
Louisville (Anthony Allen 493 yards)
New Mexico (Rodney Ferguson 473)
Central Florida (Kevin Smith (490) who ran very well against Texas)
Minnesota (Amir Pinnix 439 yards)
Kentucky (Rafeal Little 435 yards)
Pitt (LeSean McCoy 417 yards)

and the list goes on

here is a list of the top 25 rushing attacks in the NCAA (in order from 1-25 as you see them).

Navy
West Virginia
Arkansas
Oregon
Illinois
Louisiana-Lafayette

Oklahoma
Texas A&M
LSU
USC
Florida
UCF
Kent State
Louisiana-Monroe
Minnesota
Rutgers 3
Indiana

Oklahoma State
Kentucky
Kansas
Houston
Air Force

California
UCLA
Michigan

All the teams bolded are teams that have under 3 players on their entire roster on the offensive line that was ranked 4 stars or higher coming out of high school.

Teams like Air Force, Houston, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Indiana, Rutgers, Minnesota, Louisiana Monroe, Kent State, UCF, Louisiana Lafayette, Navy, West Virginia, have

0 offensive lineman on their roster that was three stars or higher coming out of High School.....

that is 14 teams out of 25 that didn't have a single four star or five star offensive lineman on their roster.

Further proving my point that you don't need to recruit "highly" rated players on the offensive line in order to have a good rushing attack. It is all about the system and finding the right players to run it.

Another monumental bit of info you have forgotten to mention is that if you don't have solid qb play, 9 times out of 10 you won't be able to run the ball. Teams will stack the line of scrimmage because they don't respect your passing game and that inevitably stops your teams chances at running the ball because that is what the defense is geared towards stopping above all else.

Now if you had BALANCE, that wouldn't be an issue

But since QB play in the ACC are dreadful, the rushing attacks show it.

NOTICE how Clemson and BC are ranked in the top 25? Both Teams have good quarterback play and a solid to ok rushing game while every other team in the ACC has erratic qb play with good to moderate success in the rushing game.

And you said that the ACC isn't recruiting sheer talent at the offensive line but these numbers say otherwise. Here is the list of ACC tackles and guards who were 4 stars or higher coming out of high school or juco.

-2 five star offensive lineman coming out of High School

So..........WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY THE COACHES IN THE ACC AREN'T RECRUITING GOOD Offensive Lineman?????????

oh really now.....

BC QB

-not to mention the ACC has a one 4 and 5 star QB committed to NC State and FSU for the 2008 class.

The talent is in place, but the lackluster coaching for more than half of the teams is bringing down the league.

Georgia Tech, Miami, FSU, NC State, and UNC have all brought in NEW offensive Coordinators so it will take some time for the qbs to get acclimated to the system.

Clemson, G Tech, Maryland, UNC, V Tech are playing with first year starters.

The talent is there, like I have showed you in the examples above, the coaching has to catch up to exploit the talent already in place.
