Won't get super specific but here's my 3 losses. The 4th would be a bowl game: The Sun Bowl or the Rice Krispies Bowl. The Holiday Bowl is a best case scenario for the men of Troy because 3 losses can't get you in the BCS unless your losses are in the non conference schedule and I don't think Idaho has the "onions" to pull off that kind of upset. That being said. Here are my 3 losses that USC will have.
Nebraska: They are building the program back up and this would a perfect coming out party for the Cornhuskers. The loss last year in L.A. serves up more fury in the Midwest and what better way to take it out than on the consensus number one team in the nation.
Cal: This is the year the Golden Bears finally get over the hump. You would think last's year team would of had a better shot but they were not "there" yet. Give Tedford some time and tape on this vaunted Trojan D and he will get Longshore to chop them up somehow. You telling me Oregon State won last year but Cal can't this year?
Notre Dame: I'm most certain about the first two losses but still strong on this one. Rivalry Game, Game in South Bend. Something about a hundred thousand fans in green that I think will rattle the talented freshmen and playmakers on the USC team. Yeah they are fresh off the yellow bus, yeah they have less talent this year but I think Charlie Weis is another coach who can cancel out some mismatches.
Now that I have said something that has rattled some cages. I expect backlash. My brothers as avid USC fans have all but kicked me out the family but I expect to be right on this front if anything:
USC has a bullseye on the back before they even walk on the field. Look back to every recent college football dynasty(The U, ,FSU, Nebraska, ND for example). They will all say every team scheduled circled their game and brought their best even when their other scheduled games were more winnable. That being said, USC has a long road to the Sugar Bowl where I believe their well oiled machine will break down on the way to New Orleans and end up stuck in El Paso or San Diego come bowl time.
Any comments, concerns, questions? Feel free to comment.
