Been following this story on the local news here in Raleigh.. I don't condone any of the shit that went down what so ever, but the issue wasn't about how long her hair was, it was the plastic beads in her hair (for whatever fucking minute chance someone actually ends up busting their ass trying to run and stepping on loose beads on the ground)..There is an actual written rule in the books by which that school district is governed for athletics that states plastic or wooden hair beads are not allowed because they are a hazard if they fall out.... One ump called it out the first time she went up to bat, so she tucked in her braids. The second time she went up to bat, the other ump made a big deal out of it..So the young had her teammates cut out the braids and remove the beads...This all said, they KNOW they should have handled it differently...

They changed their reasoning, after the first ump let it go. The second asshole was hell bent on it. Like I said, they could have handled the situation differently. Could have just let it go with a warning if they see beads on the ground she would be DQ'ed or something. No reason to put that young girl through that. However, again...it is in the rule book. So all of the national attention that is going on now, and these civil rights personalities that are showing up here wanting to stump on the issue, will ultimately have to bend.
