What a mess all around.. Ain't nothing good gonna come from any of this for anyone: future stalemate, negotiate borders to make both sides save face, then all these political fucks are doing business again while true believers and innocent people on both sides are in the dirt. Cuz power hungry dudes at top couldn't play nice.

..and that's at best. The more shit like this lingers and we have these happy accidents with explosions on Russias mainland, I'm wondering if that one dumb mistake does indeed come and warrants Russian use of tactical nukes for "protection" of it's borders.

Does anyone know OUR protocol on that? What would it take for a nation to reach that level? How would we react if there were drones exploding into Fort Bragg or the Tidewater Bases?

I disagree. What has already come out of this is that putin was sent a clear message that his land grabs won't go without response anymore. He took Crimea and the other area I can't remember and the rest of Europe and the world did nothing. This time 60+ countries are saying fuck that shit.

This action has exposed russia's military as incompetent and ill-equipped, which in turn exposes the rampant corruption that's gone on for years and is the reason their soldiers are wearing cheap plastic chinese knockoff helmets instead of the swiss or german ones they were supposed to have. The list of inferior equipment goes on and on.

Nukes are not really that much of a problem as people are led to believe; or should I say fear. There have been hundreds of nukes detonated and we're all still here. japan got the two-piece and it's a small island but besides the blast zone everything was okay.

If somehow drones were to reach US soil the response would already be either there or on its way. There are so many platforms out there you can't even count them.
You can say a lot of things about the US but militarily they are not to be fucked with.

That's definitely one way of looking at it. And I hope Russia really is as inept as you say..

Still sticking to my theory that in the end, these politicians in charge will turn back into business men and still trade/buy resources from each other. While normal folks will be in the dirt or left wondering what the whole point of this really was.

Oh, there's no doubt about it. Just google inferior russian equipment in Ukraine. They are pulling WWII shit out of museums among other things.

As for politicians, well, I'm pretty sure only lawyers are lower on the food chain.

For a second day in a row, an unmanned drone thought to be dispatched by Ukraine struck deep within Russian territory as the invasion Vladimir Putin underestimated turned sharply towards a war fought in both nations.

On Monday, deadly twin strikes hit the Engels-2 airfield and the Dyagilevo military base less than 150 miles from Moscow. The strike Tuesday hit an oil storage tank in Kursk, not far from the Ukraine border, setting off a spectacular explosion sure to rattle Russians who have been brainwashed to believe the war would never hit home.

The change in tack from Ukraine—which has not formally claimed responsibility—has many wondering how Putin will respond beyond sending more missiles into Ukraine’s infrastructure. Rather than claiming victory, Oleskiy Reznikov, Ukraine’s Defense Minister, repeated an old joke often used about Russia claiming explosions in its military bases were caused by rogue cigarettes. “Very often Russians smoke in places where it’s forbidden to smoke,” he said, according to Reuters.

Who could have anticipated that arming and poorly training felons could backfire? :smh:

Police have detained a suspected Russian deserter who fired at police officers at a city near the Ukraine border.

The man's arrest was announced on Wednesday by Vasily Golubev, governor of Russia's western Rostov region. A day earlier, state-run media said the city of Novoshakhtinsk in Rostov had been placed under lockdown after an unidentified man dressed in camouflage opened fire on police officers with a machine gun, wounding one before fleeing.

Putin has a plan to flee to South America if he loses the war in Ukraine, former aide says

6391b1f78580f70019f7f728

Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia, on November 29,2022.

  • The Kremlin started coming up with an evacuation plan for Putin in the spring, a former aide said.
  • It involves fleeing to Venezuela or Argentina, ex-speechwriter Abbas Gallyamov said.
  • Putin first considered a plan to evacuate to China — but later rejected the idea, Gallyamov said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has a plan to flee to exile in South America if he loses the war in Ukraine, a former aide said on Tuesday.

The Kremlin began working on a backup plan, unofficially dubbed "Noah's Ark", in the spring said Abbas Gallyamov, a political consultant and ex-speechwriter to Putin, in a Telegram post.

Gallyamov cited unnamed insiders for his information. He has not worked for Putin since 2010 and is himself living in exile from Russia. He framed the evacuation as an extreme contingency plan.

Analysts do not generally anticipate Putin being forced from power, despite the heavy setbacks in the Ukraine invasion.

Former Western diplomats and government officials told Reuters in October that his grip on power remained firm. US officials in May told CNN that there was no immediate prospect of Putin being ousted.

The emergency plan involves "finding new lands where you can go if the homeland becomes completely uncomfortable," Gallyamov said.

"The leader's entourage does not exclude that he will lose the war, lose power and he will have to urgently evacuate somewhere," he added.

He also said that Putin first considered a plan to evacuate to China — but later rejected the idea on the basis that the chances of "cooperation" from the Chinese would most likely be slim.

"The Chinese are too self-conscious and too contemptuous of others — especially losers. Hope, as it has now become clear, is not enough for them," he wrote.

Argentina and Venezuela are now among the top two options for Putin to flee to, Gallyamov said, adding that Russian oligarch Igor Sechin has a good relationship with authoritarian Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Sechin, who is Putin's right-hand man, has been put in charge of the evacuation plan, Gallyamov said.

Insider was unable to independently verify these claims.

Gallyamov first worked in Putin's speech-writing team from 2000 to 2001, and then from 2008 to 2010. He has been living in exile in Israel since 2018.
He has regularly commented on the state of the war in Ukraine since the start of Russia's invasion on February 24.
Gallyamov's comments come amid ongoing reports that Moscow's forces continue to suffer battlefield defeats and lose territory to Ukrainian troops.
In a televised address on Wednesday, Putin admitted that it could be a very long war and also warned that the risk of nuclear war was growing.

Argentina should welcome well him like they did with the rest of the Nazis from the 1940.

Believe me we did the same during the late Bush years in Afganistan and Iraq. In 2006 the military was welcoming prior service (vets) that was 42 years old or younger. I worked at a homeless shelter back then and witnessed some homeless vets re-enlist. 4 years later they were back at the shelter.

Not for the lines. And the US has way better equipment. Way better.

For the past 50 years wars are won on the sea and in the air and the US controls both by a large margin. Right now we have 2 carrier groups within range of this war. Just to let putin know what's what. The US operates 11 Nimitz-class carriers. And they don't sail alone. They've got destroyers and subs along for the excitement. And those aircraft aren't flown by some homeless guys. Nor those ships commanded by bums.

The people that reenlisted during desert whatever were not only a small, small number but they did basically canteen or quartermaster duty.

In short, your post is very misleading.
