Flights from Russia skyrocket to £8,000 with thousands fleeing mobilisation

TIMELAPSE SHOWS AIR TRAFFIC IN RUSSIA AS PACKED FLIGHTS LEAVE

Thousands of Russians have rushed to book extortionate tickets out of the country while they still can following Vladimir Putin’s ‘partial mobilisation’ announcement.

Flight tracker Flightradar24 posted a timelapse video showing a stream of one-way flights pouring out of Russia into Turkey, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates.

Following President Putin’s announcement that civilians were to be conscripted to go and fight in Ukraine, flights to countries which still offer visa-free travel to Russians sold out within hours, with prices skyrocketing.

Flights from Moscow to Dubai, which would have cost around £181 in January, have surged to more than £8,000 per seat.

A ticket to nearby Armenia will now cost the average Russian at least £1,000.
Data also showed that in the first few hours following Putin’s address to the nation, Google searches for ‘how to leave Russia’ became the highest-trending topic in the country.

Video emerged on Friday of a long line of vehicles stuck on a highway leading to Russia’s border with Kazakhstan.

Video: Huge traffic jam at Russia-Kazakh border after Putin's military mobilisation
The footage was shot by a man who said he spent seven hours in the traffic jam, adding some people had been there for two days already, apparently trying to get out. Since Wednesday, large numbers of Russians have rushed to leave the country by air and land.

Border guards in Finland also reported heavy traffic along its southeastern border to Russia, adding that the number of Russians who entered the previous day was more than double the amount who arrived the week before.

About 7,000 people entered from Russia on Thursday, some 6,000 of them Russian, meaning a 107% increase compared with the same day a week earlier, according to the border guards.

A spokesperson said Friday’s queue was the longest at the busy Vaalimaa crossing, with cars lining up for about 500 metres, which was longer than on Thursday. Lines were also ‘longer than normal’ at the second-biggest Nuijamaa crossing.

Finnish land border crossings have remained among the few entry points into Europe for Russians after a string of countries shut both physical frontiers and their air space to Russian planes in response to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Russia has seen an exodus of citizens since fighting began, with an estimated 300,000 people believed to have fled the country in March alone.

Russian troops raped and tortured children in Ukraine, U.N. panel says
The findings by the United Nations experts are the latest allegations of war crimes against Russia since its invasion of Ukraine.

A Russian soldier patrols in Mariupol, Ukraine, on April 12 .

Russian troops have raped and tortured children in Ukraine, carried out a “large number” of executions and committed other war crimes, according to a United Nations investigation by legal experts.

Set up by the U.N. to probe the conduct of the war, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry reported its chilling findings Friday in Geneva, describing a long list of abuses and atrocities in four regions.

“Based on the evidence gathered by the commission, it has concluded that war crimes have been committed in Ukraine,” Erik Mose, the chairman of the three-member commission, told the U.N. Human Rights Council.
Mose, a Norwegian judge, said the commission has documented cases in which children have been "raped, tortured and unlawfully confined."

“There are examples of cases where relatives were forced to witness the crimes," he added. "In the cases we have investigated, the age of victims of sexual and gendered-based violence ranged from 4 to 82 years."

Children also have been killed and wounded in “indiscriminate attacks” by Russian forces using explosive weapons, he said.

Mose said that he and his colleagues “were struck by the large number of executions in the areas that we visited.”

The commission is investigating executions in 16 towns and settlements and has “credible allegations regarding many more cases of executions, which we are documenting further,” he said.

The execution cases often featured “the prior detention of the victims as well as visible signs of executions on bodies, such as hands tied behind backs, gunshot wounds to the head, and slit throats,” according to Mose.

For Ukrainians who were unlawfully detained, witnesses “provided us with consistent accounts of ill-treatment and torture,” he said.

The update from the commission follows other allegations of war crimes from international human rights groups, Western governments and Ukrainian authorities, including the recent discovery of a mass burial site in the eastern town of Izyum.

The commission also had found two cases of “ill-treatment against Russian Federation soldiers by Ukrainian forces,” he said. “While few in numbers, such cases continue to be the subject of our attention."

The commission focused on the regions of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy, visiting 27 towns and settlements and interviewing 150 victims and witnesses.

As it continues its investigation, it will examine the forced transfer of people and the alleged expedited adoption of children, Mose said.

The United States has accused Russia of interrogating, detaining and forcibly deporting hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to Russia. An unknown number of children are believed to have been adopted by Russian families. The alleged deportations represent a war crime, violating the Geneva Conventions, U.S. officials say.

Russia has denied committing war crimes and defended its conduct of the war since it launched the invasion Feb. 24. Russian officials say Ukrainians who relocated to Russia traveled there voluntarily.

What up… guess this a statement post

:giggle::grin::happy:

being that this statement was quote I’m guess Ukraine handling their business…

couple things happened made me say fuck this situation and why I haven’t post nothing in here in a while.

1st….
across the street from my mama property, the neighbor son(whom recently got outta jail) was followed home and got shot up. It was said the police found 100 shells.
Dude was hit 4 times, he lives tho.

then two weeks after that a 12yr shot and killed another teen. The victim was 14yr. This occurred close to where I’m staying now. Like 12yrs old… smh

I watched a clip of Ukrainians bodies floating up on the banks of the river after trying to get to that nuke plant… I watched many clip of dead bodies from both sides in trenches, burnt in armored vehicles and so on…
But I woke up with that shit on my mind and knew it was time to exit….

The same thing as what?

Argentina killed off its Black population during the war for independence from Spain and the war against Paraguay by having the Black troops overrepresented in both conflicts serving mainly as cannon fodder. Russia is doing the same with this. Look how few mobilized troops are ethnically russian or from Moscow/St.Petersburg compared with the numbers from Dagestan, Buryatia or even Crimea. :smh:

Now, think back to the filtration camps that were discussed heavily in the first months of the war and specifically about where in Russia the new "refugees" are being resettled. :smh::smh::smh:

It is absolutely insane what is going on...

I don't understand this one

Many of the Russian bloggers and intercepted calls from troops have complained of a lack close air support for months. It came out yesterday that Putin is now taking a more hands on role even denying requests for a retreat from Kherson. I don't think Putin directly ordered these sorties but the planes were shot down because it appears they are taking a more aggressive but also much more risky approach with their air assets as the lines still being held by the Russians are in extreme danger of collapse.

As Russian Losses Mount in Ukraine, Putin Gets More Involved in War Strategy
The Russian president has rejected requests from commanders in the field that they be allowed to retreat from Kherson, a vital city in Ukraine’s south.

Before the invasion, the line of cars at the Russian border with Georgia was only about 50 cars long...... now... 2300 cars long stretching for more than eight miles

Finland announces it will close its border with Russia sometime in the coming days

Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia have all closed their borders

I hope America and other countries with a bunch of CACs is watching this very closely. There’s no way in hell they could pull this off in current America right now it would be hell especially towards the Republicans and Christian right and Trump supporters but they would love to try to do this is some form of fashion. China is also going through some shit they trying to keep secret and Iran so a good chunk of Asia is beginning to go haywire right now. I hate to say this, but I just hope they chill out before somebody touches that magic button.
