Mercedes drivers Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton ended the test with the two fastest times - by a huge margin - and the car ran consistently and almost completely reliably throughout.

Ferrari behind rivals as Vettel breaks down

Ferrari say they are lagging behind rivals Mercedes and Red Bull at the halfway point of pre-season testing.

The admission from team boss Mattia Binotto came as Sebastian Vettel suffered the first mechanical failure of testing with an engine failure.

I meant to come in here weeks ago to talk about the utter shitshow that that fucking snake jean todt and Ferrari International Assistance pulled off with their under-the-table "settlement." What a fucking joke. I'm glad the other teams called out the bullshit but I wonder if anything will come of it. It being Formula One I tend to doubt it. Ferrari stans are like trumpies - they see no wrong in their team's antics so they can't be expected to see clearly but you would hope Liberty would realize this kind of shit almost ruined the sport several times in the past. They need to stop deferring to Ferrari and get rid of that veto bullshit. It's hurting the sport.

Now, Merc, naughty, naughty trying to slip those brake ducts in. But that's what teams do, push the formula until they're told to stop. But do we think Merc will get an under-the-table settlement like Ferrari did? Not a chance. Most of us hoped with Liberty taking over the days of bernie type fuckery were over but it seems not.
Honesty, when Lewis retires, unless there's another Black driver, I doubt I'll continue to follow F1. It's really that bad.

If these two things hold true, it Ricciardo to Ferrari. Renault will be spinnaker g wheels(pun intended) especially after this pandemic. The board was already not wanting to spend more money on F1. Even with the salary cap it won’t help them. Vettel hasn’t proven shit in that Ferrari in five years other than he can beat past prime teammates and get his ass handed to him by basically a rookie. Ricciardo would a perfect fit for Ferrari. Cheaper an Vettel and more consistent.

The Australian Grand Prix was cancelled hours before the beginning of FP1, and since then Formula 1 has been on lockdown with the rest of the world, but after a massive wait with serious uncertainty over if anything could happen this season, a much-changed Formula 1 will finally return. Massive operational changes are required as Formula 1 enters a so-far Europe only closed-door season. Two double-headers have been confirmed, meaning Formula 1 will have 2 races at the same circuit in a season for the first time in history. It's going to be weird to watch, but it's good to have Formula 1 back.

All the stories from Australia have been on pause for many weeks. Can anyone challenge Mercedes? Is the Tracing Point really that good? Who will lead the midfield or even escape it? Will Williams finally be back to the midfield with their new livery? Can McLaren or Williams solve their financial issues and secure their futures? So many questions, so many answers which we can't find out until the cars finally hit the track. We can't wait for the AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX to start!

Lewis Hamilton made a powerful statement of intent as the Formula 1 season finally got under way at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The world champion was fastest in both practice sessions at the Red Bull Ring, leading team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
Mercedes have repainted their cars black, a new livery reflecting support for anti-racism and diversity.

The season is starting four months late after coronavirus laid waste original plans and forced a complete re-think.

Beyond eight races in Europe scheduled over the next 10 weekends, the shape of the rest of the season remains in flux, as a result of the differing impact of coronavirus around the world.

To restart the championship, F1 has taken a series of measures to minimise the risks with coronavirus, with social-distancing protocols and a testing programme.

And the sport is making efforts to promote diversity as a result of the increased profile of the fight against racism following the global protests that were precipitated by the death of African-American man George Floyd in police custody in May.

Looks like Renault is proving the same. Why they still have Cyril Abiteboul as the team principal still at this point is beyond. Dude got nothing buy empty promises and excuses.

I see this being a very tough season for Lewis... they're gonna do everything possible to stop him equalling Schumacher's record.

He'll fight through it all though, like he always does.
Yeah Redbull are gonna turn up the “whine-tunnel” full blast this season. They are got the fuckboy stewards to reverse their yellow flag decision and tried to protest DAS which FIA already said they basically cleared.
