The Future:
The future for this board is great. We are still getting new signups, I did a breakdown the other day, but off the top of my head 6 out of 10 new signups are valid. The others are Russian bots. I'm going to allow them to post and create their own threads. We need new thread starters who will develop their own niche. They just need time.

Summary:
This is the situation in a nutshell. I need $3000 a month and all is good. $5000 a month and $60,000 I'm asking for via GoFundme would stabilize me and the board, but that's pie in the sky. If I get sued I can honestly say "I'm Broke" and mean it.

Is it time to downsize the board? So many different forums. The new sign ups coming in aren't matching the non renewals going out. The heyday of BGOL has long passed. In terms of peak membership. Your vision of growth is based on membership. And when membership dipped yearly subscriptions increased. And as subscriptions increased membership dipped more. I love the board but not to the tune of a $10 or $20 monthly subscription. It's not a matter of financial means it's bang for your buck. The financial goal post seems to move every few months. Now, it's $5k a month and $60k up front. I'm sure you're making some money. As you should. But, nothing lasts forever.

I don't know how much sense this statement makes. We are going up with a volunteer donation program if it works. Any improvement benefits everyone.

No I can't make that happen for you, I've been talking finance for years, search the website. Also I'm asking members who love the board and have the financial means to support the board. If that is not you that's cool.

If you recall when we first started the donation program it was $10 a year and everything was cool for awhile, but the HNIC is trying to Rip you off crowd was in full effect and they actually discouraged folks from donating $10 once a year. It was a very successful campaign, I have to give them credit.

We do a decent job of deleting all of the bad signups, being honest I'm a few weeks behind schedule, so I'll be on it probably starting on Monday.

I'm not trying to get rich, I said I can run this board on 3,000 a month. That's $36,000 a year. Hardly makes me rich. If I can get $5000 a month that would be perfect, but I said that's pie in the sky. $5000 a month is $60,000 a year. Not close to the amount of money someone makes who is trying to rip off his fellow black man.

With $60,000 I can achieve my true goal which is to start a youtube channel, after my initial fucked up rollout I came to the conclusion my goal was too ambitious. I need to start with one concept and build from there. If I can get my hands on any money I'm going to start with Sports, get it right, then advance from there. I have 11 members, plus some guys right here in the ATL ready to go.

Having a presence outside of BGOL will solidify the forum, plus give us a legitimate way of making money. There are a lot of opportunity for board members and others to learn the communications business if I can just get started. When I'm able to offer real jobs and real opportunities to folks that's when I'll truly be happy.

BGOL is so frustrating because there is the narrative that I'm out to steal from people when my real goals are quite the opposite. All I can do is keep grinding and hope like hell enough members can look past the bullshit.

The Internet is full of bots that go from old/new wordpress installs and old/active forums and post messages. The messages are usually trying to sell viagra or pointing toward certain websites. In most cases to sell goods. Not a lot of political stuff or propaganda being posted by bots.

Most active websites can catch and remove these post almost as soon as they happen

For some reason all/most of this bot activity originates in Russia.

The bot problem is as old as the Internet
