:dunno:have you seen it? Have you seen the quality of all the other marvel films/tv shows from this phase?

There are elements of the script that sound dumb as all fuck to me. I find something strange. In all the years I've been on and off BGOL, in different iterations(AFKAQ,Aquarian,Nosmo King,Lou_Kayge), I've seen black creatives get criticized and their critics not be vilified or have to wear the coon label. Why is Coogler immune from criticism here?

Honestly I respect your opinion as much as anyone else on the board but if you haven't even seen the movie then I don't really see why we should debate if the movie is good or not, or what works in a script to a movie you haven't seen. the fact is at this point it's free to watch if you so choose, so if you want to check it out then I'd be more than happy to discuss it with you after. Otherwise it'll be about politics/beliefs or whatever it is that keeps you from watching it, and personally, with respect I couldn't give a fuck less about any of that lol When I judge a piece of art i don't look at it as black/white low brow/ high brow, I judge it based off what I feel when I watch it. I don't try to dissect every plot point and story beat in the middle of the movie like the YouTube channels like cinema sins do, I've always thought that it's a mistake to judge art that way imho I watch a movie same as I listen to a song, do I feel that? Does it move me? That's all that matters to me. I would recommend watching it and giving it a shot with an open mind and not judging it against what you would have personally wanted and instead judge it for what it is and how they executed it.

With everything stacked against them it's hard to put in words how good a job they did, I can't think of too many(if any) giant film franchises that have lost a star and were able to recover in such a great way.

With that fact aside my thoughts on the movie are without the influence of that. First off Ryan coogler is a damn good director, this movie is just pretty compared to what we've seen lately from the MCU, even with the fantastical settings the use of sets and beautiful costumes pulls the eye from the cgi and blends everything nicely(sure there where still a couple funky cgi scenes but overall solid) the soundtrack was electric and propelled the pace of the film beautifully, the acting from everyone was spot on and I do think that Angela deserves to be recognized for a very powerful supporting role.

The action was very solid, especially when we get to see namor in action(lesson learned, don't send any kind of flying vehicle namors way lol) honestly I would have loved to see this entire story stretched out into a ten episode series, there was so much to explore in the conflict between namor and wakanda.

Namor was bad as fuck, great character, the mixing of Maya/Aztec culture into Namor was beautiful.

Overall very happy with how this turned out, looking forward to what comes next.

The fuck she didn't see her Daddy or brother in the astral plane? I'm sorry, I understand she was a boiling cauldron of anger and vengeance, but that seems like forced, shitty writing just to get your boy in the movie.

that one thing i dont like is we had never had a scene with the whole family together or picture of the family together. I guessing she saw kilmonger because she had so much anger built up inside.

I think the smart move would have been to leave the ancestral plane out of the script altogether.

Nigga. How could she see her brother when Chadwick is dead and they said they will not recast T'Challa. EVER. T'Challa will never be recast.

So Coogler used the lemons he was given.

He wrote that since Shuri is so angry with rage, then it would make sense to see an angry spirit.

SMH.

They should have made Michael B the new black panther, not that skinny chic. The movie was not that great, it's only saving grace is that fans loved Chadwick so much we don't want to fuck up his legacy.

Whatever. Why would she even need to go through that ritual with synthetic heart-shaped herb. This is what I mean about incessant caping for Coogler. Why even include the ancestral plane if you chose the nuclear option to kill the main character with the actor. The logical thing anyone would ask the elders in the plane is 'Where is my brother?" "Or where's Ba Ba(T'Chaka)?'

He's not redeemable. It's SO simplistic to think T'Challa HAD to die with Boseman. 2 things can be true, you can be a fan of Boseman and be a T'Challa fan. Not this spin that anti-recasters try to put out there.

and I am NOT trying to hear nothing negative

cause when white movies win Oscars its a great achievement and changes lives and careers

but the only Marvel movie the one of the biggest is a BLACK movie and Academy Awards don't mean much?

F*ck outta here.

Andrea Riseborough got nominated for best actress in a movie that made $27,000 at the box office and nobody fucking saw it. The bitch invited her cousins and baby mama and granddaddies

But that's what white people do. They nominate bullshit for Oscars because the movie is starring white people.

Yeah he needs to be recast or atleast rebooted because this Shuri shit is not going to work. I still think they should have brought back Killmonger and make him a antihero until they are ready to reboot.

I thought I read somewhere that there was a deleted scene in the 1st movie that showed a younger T'Chaka talking to a teen T'Challa. It might have been in the movie because that kid's on IMDB with Black Panther as a credit. Where I'm going with this is that with Kan in the picture, why not just use that actor that played a younger version of Chadwick's T'Challa to play a time displaced T'Challa raised by Kang and Ravonna(redbone on Loki) as opposed to T.J

After his body was dumped in the sea...he was rescued by Namor..
I came up with this Theory immediately after Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020.

It was my hypothesis that killmonger planned for what would happen if he were to lose the battle for Black Panther. That's how smart and calculated he was.

He had met with Namor and made a deal with him. That explains how Namor has contacts on the surface.

Asking to be buried at Sea was something killmonger new The Honorable T'Challa would heed his wishes and thus fall into the web he was clever enough to weave.

Namor would rescue him, the cool waters would keep him comatose until he could be healed. The final cut scene at the end of Black Panther Wakanda Forever could have been Killmonger waking up from his coma in front of Namor.

Unfortunately, we really didn't get to see much of T'Challa's genius and cunning that we do in the comics. Though I heard the recent comics run by John Ridley(black dude) has devolved and bitch-made T'Challa. T'Challa fans are catching L's and getting "fuck you's!" often lately.
