. 32-year-old Avonte Teasley was at his baby mama’s house to pick up his child when things turned violent. According to reports, her new girlfriend allegedly pulled a weapon first, sparking a deadly shootout right on the doorstep — all caught on door cam.

Prosecutors have charged Avonte with first-degree murder, but his family insists it was self-defense. They’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign “Justice For Avonte,” saying he was only trying to protect himself, his wife, and the child in his custody.

I saw this before and must not have read it correctly initially. This was his baby mom's girlfriend that he got into the shootout with? I thought it was the baby mom herself. This new information goes back to old adage of minding your business.

We just need to make an on going thread called “Agressive Dykes”

And they trying to charge this man with murder when it’s clear as day?

Your reward is sucking satan’s dick for eternity bitch.

The prosecution is probably looking at him continuing to shoot after she tossed the gun. However; since the suv was blocking his line of sight he couldn't see that she was unarmed when he delivered the last few shots. He clearly was trying to make sure that he could get into his car safely and leave without being shot at. Which he immediately did when he realized that she was down. DA wasting time and money with this case.

The whistle before delivering the last 2 shots was crazy. He knew that she was unarmed at that point. Nobody is going to whistle mid shootout, he knew it was over. That's not enough to convict him on.

My thing is, he was there to pick up his kid. Seems like he and his wife have custody of the child. That right there is telling me a lot. Why was the baby mama's girlfriend even there? That's not her kid and the reports are saying that she was a new girlfriend. Ma'am, mind your business. Let the baby mama handle the situation. You just rub her back while she's bitching about dude after the fact. The whole shit could have been avoided.

Nah, the suv was blocking his view when she tossed the gun. Also, you don't know who was whistling. Could of been people in the house trying to call the dog's attention from going back outside.
:dunno:

Everything you need to know bout the Sacramento County D.A.'s office...why 1st degree murder charges were filed/lesbian perp's name was hidden..

Looks like self-defense to me. It went got a gun. Ignored someone telling it no, stop. It started shooting, got hit, went down, raised up started shooting again.
Looks like it to me too.

But I know California law isn’t gonna see it that way because of how they view gun possession. He bought a gun with him (most likely illegal possession; carry permits are limited) to her house, so they’ll interpret that as he intended to do harm by having a gun.

She would’ve lost her self defense too if she had won the gunfight because she went back into the house to retrieve her gun. Once she went back inside that’s her duty to retreat to safety if she felt threatened.

I still think with the right council he could get off with the right defense.

Yeah, that's the tricky part....

She was shooting then tossed the gun behind the SUV but he couldn't see that, so he gave her 2 or 3 more shots to make sure the threat was eliminated.

Cops have done waaaaay worse and weren't even indicted.....

He will need a "pay attorney," but i think he could beat the Murder 1 charge.

He could just say that the gf has a history of making threats, the handoff is in a bad neighborhood known for violence and he felt he needed the gun for self protection....

It'd be more helpful if he had a rejected ccw application or an application in progress at the time of the shooting, but you can't turn back time.

Yeah, me too

^^^ I see three pieces of shit. That reckless bitch pulled her gun first. That man was clearly defending himself.

The problem is he clearly already had his gun ready when she came out and was the first to shoot.

It also looks like he may have already had it ready just in case before she came out with hers.

She still seems to be the aggressor but th3se things may play against him if true.

Also his criminal record will come into play as well.
