ARE ALL WHITES RACIST?

So by that argument if I'm shopping at Walgreens and a crazed gunman storms in murdering every woman in the store then I'm sexist because he didn't kill me too?
no...did you ASK for that man do that?? no. Do you CONDONE what he did? no...would you have stopped him if you could....probably.

But by virtue of you being born on Team Penis, means you BENEFITTED from his sexism in that situation because he didn't and wouldn't target you, didn't you?

I can't get with that because it implies that being sexist is not a conscious choice. If a male is labeled for life from the moment that they're born then what's the point of fighting against it? What's the point of being inclusive with people that will always see you as an enemy no matter what?

the system of a negative "isms" whatever it is...works in the bigger picture, regardless of how you think or feel about it. At your job you could get a promotion, raise or hired because the male gatekeeper had a bias. You could have very well benefitted from sexism directly...now tell me if you knew that would you not take that job, promotion or raise?? What do you think the average man (or white person if we're talking racially) would do in that situation??

Thats why it cracks me up whenever I hear white people talk about merit... the USA as a society NEVER based anything on merit. Its ALWAYS been class and race to a large degree. There are way too many examples to show it but suffice it to say that the white middle class in the 40 and 50s was largely built on racial exclusion and that generation and their descendants will say with straight faces that whiteness had nothing to do with it.

I'm a strip club DJ. Having a penis definitely helped me get the job. My only merit was a well honed microphone presence.

Quitting would be the right and honorable thing to do, but even then I'd still be a sexist so what would be the point? Why do right and honorable things if it doesn't make you a right and honorable person?

That said, I don't know that a person can be automatically labeled because of their parents deeds.

If your dad made a living robbing banks does that automatically make you a criminal? If you lived in his house and ate the food he put on the table should you be required to pay that money back to the bank once you get a legitimate job? Then again, if he paid for you to go to college could that job ever be considered legitimate?

IMO all you can really do is be better than he was.

What a White person would say who tries to pretend White Supremacy doesn't exist.......

A former visiting math professor sued St. Joseph’s University in federal court this month for removing him from the classroom and failing to renew his contract after his anonymous tweets last February against racial-bias training and reparations for slavery.

Gregory Manco, who also lost his job as a St. Joseph’s assistant baseball coach, says the university defamed him, discriminated against him on the basis of his race — he is Caucasian — and attempted to “cancel” him by suspending him and not renewing his contract, “despite his dedication and excellent performance.” The lawsuit also names a professor and former students who complained about Manco.

The tweets were made on an anonymous account not affiliated with the university. One said: “Suppose your great-great-grandfather murdered someone. The victim’s great-great-grandson knocks on your door, shows you the newspaper clipping from 1905, and demands compensation from you. Your response? Now get this racist reparation bull— out of your head for good.”

Another questions whether race and bias training “actually divides us and *worsens* race relations?”

It seems to me both you and manco are skipping over context. In your case, youre compartmentalizing and not acknowledging that you directly benefitted from the crimes your father committed. You believe the actions of your father have nothing to do with you when you stand directly on the shoulders of those criminal actions. And maybe not YOU personally but many whites act like the success they have is ONLY because they worked hard and refuse to believe that it was largely funded with blood money and the elimination of competition. Then turn around and say niggas are lazy and if only they worked hard blah blah blah....

Manco's analogy skips over how the murder of the head of the household altered the course of that family but NOT ONLY THAT the subsequent actions of the great great grandfather...denying loans and employment opportunities, foreclosing on that family's home, throwing the sons in jail etc and much of that done consciously maliciously...means the descendants may want to hold someone responsible especially considering the effects of those actions are STILL rippling out 3 generations later.

White people HAVE TO compartmentalize slavery and jim crow era and all the other offenses because the crimes are just too big. Thats why whites in general and conservative whites in particular love bringing up MLK and his dream speech and NEVER quote anything else he said because they want to NOT acknowledge the fucked up shit that went down.

“Whites, it must frankly be said, are not putting in a similar mass effort to reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of a sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn.”

Keeping with our metaphors...

To say that none of it is based on merit is a little extreme. I've been DJing for over 10 years and speaking in front of crowds since I was 8. Without that background my penis wouldn't matter.

That said, I would never compare myself to a woman who has a similar job somewhere else.

We can still relate on challenges that are unique to our professions and lifestyles. However at a certain point there's going to be a divide where it becomes nearly impossible to fathom what she goes through or what she overcame. Eventually you realize that even with the best intentions there's not a lot you can do.

I might be able to do something to make her life better. Done it before and I'm happy to do it again. However, that doesn't do anything for the people who are not her. Those are some deep rooted systematic issues that are going to take an entire nation to address.

When I said the USA as a society NEVER based anything on merit. Its ALWAYS been class and race to a large degree. I meant that merit's not the first priority or the biggest factor. Or its only a major factor among same kind candidates...meaning you were the best of all the MALES interviewed for the gig...or you were best WHITE male compared to other white men up for the job. But if youre not white or male then your shit outta luck. :dunno:

and thats been the case for longer than not.

As for deep rooted systematic issues that are going to take an entire nation to address. That's hard to do when more than half the country acts like this...

White people LOVE micro-analyzing the culture of others and telling the world what is wrong with it but not theirs.

Okay I can agree with that.

Whatever you accomplish in life there's always going to be someone who did a lot more with a lot less. And if you're white that's especially true.

Not sure how to get white people to address systematic issues. However, in a strange way I think that the government's ban on CRT and schools is a positive sign. It shows that white kids are starting to ask questions about what really happened in America. That's why our leaders are bending over backwards to make sure they don't find out.

Put it this way.....youre a man..are you sexist or gender biased? You may say no BUT as a man in a male dominated world and a patriarchal society you benefit from historic sexism in your favor whether you're aware of it or believe it or not. You may want to deflect that and say that racially you don't benefit but black women have to deal with racism AND sexism too not just in the country but their own community...ask them if theyre happy about that shit?

So you can be the nicest fairest man you can think of but thats coming from a position where all the dirty work has already been done before you were born. SO you may FEEL like youre not sexist but you live in a society and world thats already skewed that way so you benefit regardless.

Works the same with racism.

:eek2:

Yes. All whites should be considered white supremacists and potentially racist by Black people until proven not to be as far as Black people should be concerned. How is that proven? A white person needs to violate the white supremacist code and give a benefit to a Black person at the expense of personal harm due to retaliation by their own group.

Just gave notice at the strip club. After I did something told me to revisit this conversation.

Doubt you want any details of how these clubs operate, but to sum it up it made our conversation about sexism and racism a lot more relevant.

I've been perfecting my craft for nearly 20 years. Played some of the best venues in the city, have dozens of five star reviews from satisfied clients. My merit is undeniable. However at this particular club being white and male matter far more than any of that. Not only is it morally wrong it's insulting.

I'd be more than happy to work in a black strip club or any place where management answers to the dancers. Aside from that I'm done with the "gentlemen club" industry for good.
