I never liked Halo 1 and 2 multiplayer. I'm more into military games like Socom, Battlefield and Call of Duty. Today I downloaded the Beta not really hyped about the game. After playing it for an hour, I'm loving this game. the shit is pretty fun especially if you're playing with friends. I got to pick up the game in Sept

You need to buy or rent Crackdown to play Halo3 Beta though.

All of the Marine weapons seem weak. The Brute weapons are the most powerful. It's fun. I didn't get into H2's MP, but this one is ok.

You sure about that? I keep getting blown away by that shit real quick

I found it once. What's it supposed to do? I threw it down and someone just shot through it and killed me anyway.

:( the red ring of death hit my 360 :(

The funny thing is that when I called Microsoft and said "The red ring of death hit my 360"?

They caught a attitude!

So its "World of Warcraft" till it gets back from repairs, cant wait to try the Halo beta.

They extended it to June 10th, hope you get it back by then. If not September 25th is the release date.

How can i get the Halo 3 beta?

Buy or rent specially MARKED Crackdown games. Then put in the Crackdown game, goto the download option and you'll see an option to download the Halo 3 Beta.

Oh shit, Microsoft is not playing around. I was about to get my 360 modded next week. I am glad I didn't.

Microsoft Starts Banning 360s on LIVE - MS Confirms

>> With the amount of posts we see on our forums ... it's clear, Microsoft decided to start banning Xbox360 with modified firmwares today.
While it's the same release date as Halo3 beta, it seems that people who didn't download Halo3 also get banned. They probably detect backup discs when you play 'em online (not confirmed yet).
Even people using the new firmwares with disc-jitter added get banned, so it looks like Microsoft found another way to detect it.
Just like on Xbox1 it seems Microsoft bans the console unique ID, not the LIVE user.

Update: This was just posted on Microsoft's Games Global Marketing team blog:

One of the great things about LIVE and the unified community is that we work hard to create a level playing field for all gamers and have a no tolerance policy towards inappropriate behavior like hacking or cheating. As part of our commitment to our members, we do not allow people that we have detected to have modified their console to connect to LIVE. This is an important part of our efforts to try and maintain a fair gaming environment for the large majority of gamers that play by the rules. This topic is more important than ever given the recent release of the Halo 3 beta. As a result, some consumers that try to login to LIVE who we detect have illegally modified their console will get an error code (Status Code: Z: 8015 - 190D) when trying to connect to the service. These users will not have their account automatically banned from LIVE, but they will no longer be able to access the service from the console they modified.

We have stated in the past that customers can only enjoy access to the Xbox LIVE community through the use of a genuine, unmodified, Xbox console and we will continue to enforce this rule to ensure the integrity of our service, the protection of our partners and the benefits of our users.

Damn, I called it again

I am seriously thinking about modding my 360. I modded the first Xbox my self (Soft Mod) the only problem i have with going through it now is i will not be able to play on Xbox Live anymore with that modded 360. Unless there is a chip out now that will allow me to switch the mod on and off like those mod chips for the first Xbox.

Like I was saying earlier, as of now, Microsoft isn't banning people who play on Xbox live with a modded 360. This maybe because they can't detect the modded consoles yet or their waiting for a certain time. Before you apply any updates, check forums and/or sites online to see if its OK to update. I have been playing all my "back-ups" ;) online with no problem.

Who know's they might activate it today or tomorrow.:dunno: Ill try it this month or next month. I got 20 games now at $ 60 a game, this shit is killing my wallet.

Microsoft booting modders off Xbox Live

If you've been using a modified Xbox 360 to beta test first-person shooters on Xbox Live, you're about to be shunned by the online world like a leper operating a Simple Plan Myspace page. "How could this happen to me?" you ask. Well, Major Nelson bluntly blurts it out on his temporary post-meltdown page: "As you can imagine, we have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to modded consoles connecting to LIVE. We're very serious about this, and if we detect you have a modded Xbox then you will not be able to connect to Xbox Live."

Aside from the sudden disconnection, modders will be informed of their newly-banished status by the above screen and the status code, "Z: 8015 - 190D." Those recipients without eye patches will no doubt be livid and ready to assault message boards with all manner of exclamations and emoticons, but when used for evil, the power of Mod can open the door to online cheating and other unfair unpleasantness. Sometimes innocent bystanders have to pay the price in Microsoft's war on enemy solders.

We're very serious about this, and if we detect you have a modded Xbox then you will not be able to connect to Xbox Live. If you see this screen and get Status Code: Z: 8015 - 190D…that means your console has been banned.

I think it's great that they are doing that, if you can't win without cheating then you suck and shouldn't be playing in the first place. Go MS, fuck those modders!

My personal take is , If youre a fan a Halo CE then youll like Halo 3, Its funny cause I never thought about my game play style in Halo 2 until i watched a vid with the developers saying that Halo 2's style stopped alot of grenades and melee's since you started with a dual wield weapon Which iwas a big part of CE . Now Im back whupping ass old school. I only dual wield with the spikers but i leave those smg's alone ,Battle rifle all day. Cant wait to play with the pistol !!.

Same here. Those SMGs are absolute shit. I put like 50 bullets right into someone's face and they just pop me with a shotgun and step over my dead body

hit me up on it later today.

elbone is my gt.

Yeah it does have a Halo:CE feel to it. I guess that's why I like it so much. H:CE had balance. H3 seems to try to get back to that. Even with dual wielding. H2 was unbalanced and it took no skill to play. Just dual wield plasma rifles and it was a wrap. I'm enjoying the Shotty snipers gameplay, that shit is fun. Snipler Rifles and shotguns is the only weapons and it 15 kills to win.

i hate to say it but im very disappointed! its like halo 2.5.......micro$oft better have somethin better than this lined up for us on 9/25.......

I don't think he does.

Bungie also announced that H3 is feature finished, now they just have to get all the bugs out.

Halo 3 is Feature Complete, Enters Bug Fixing Stage
By: César A. Berardini - "Cesar"
May. 18th, 2007 7:30 pm

The latest Bungie Weekly Update has revealed that Halo 3 is feature complete and now the game only requires a lot of bug fixing and optimization. This week, Frank O'Connor was in Europe to show the game to the different video game ratings boards.

For Halo 3, we simply played through the entire Campaign, bugs and all, and thanks to the fact that our game is still a ways away, it was pretty buggy. However, all of the content was there, every mission and character and encounter – and the graphics, while far from polished, were correct to those that will be seen in the final game, certainly as far as gore and so on are concerned.

Reaching this phase in the development has allowed Bungie and Microsoft to confirm the release date for the game, which will be available to gamers around the world starting Sept. 25.

Thats a lie because you can't shoot through in it or out of it.

im talkin about the core gameplay itself.....halos the same shit people have been playin on pcs since the 90's, movin the release date up does not seem like a sign of greater things to come to me. beta = core gameplay, final release = d's on that bitch, from point A<--->B the journey remains the same, as well as the outcome....or should i say income.....$$ on 9/25 i hope to be proven wrong!

Again Halo is an FPS other than that there are pretty much no similarities,It was an original fps with strategy AND a single player that was good to boot, not a filler (except HAlf life and NOLF)
