Speaking of macross... did you peep out the macross series that came out a couple years ago. Unbelievably it was not released over here. I had to use bit torrent and a separate subtitle site but it was worth it.
no I didn't...
Macross Frontier or Macross Delta?

Netflix plans to spend $8 billion to make its library 50 percent original by 2018

Netflix plans to increase the amount of money it spends on developing and producing original television and films next year, to an eye-popping $8 billion. The company has given a ballpark projection near that amount in the past, but Netflix bumped it up during its third-quarter earnings announcement today by an additional $1 billion to make clear to investors and Hollywood both that it plans spends to quite a lot of money to lock down ownership of its own entertainment.

With Disney and other high-profile names increasingly moving content into closed garden ecosystems, Netflix’s future lies in making sure it controls its own destiny, and in ensuring it doesn’t take too big a hit when third-party content owners pull licensing deals out from under its feet. The ultimate goal, reiterated today by Netflix executives, is one the company has laid out before: a library containing 50 percent original TV and film content by the end of next year.

On a video call with analysts this afternoon, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos clarified that a sizable chunk of that $8 billion will go toward toward producing 30 new anime series and 80 new original films, all slated for release in 2018. While the company has often kept concrete viewership numbers under wraps, Sarandos’ willingness to drop the anime and film metrics is a positive sign that its investments in those areas are going well.

While anime doesn’t win Netflix awards at the Emmys — and the company’s Oscar ambitions remain restricted to the documentary category — investing in animated series and independent films paves the road for future creative partnerships and helps push Netflix toward the 50 percent goal. Amazon Studios’s Manchester by the Sea nabbed two Oscars for its screenplay and Casey Affleck’s performance, suggesting Netflix could soon snag a high-profile award itself. And anime in particular helps court younger viewers who’ve traditionally consumed Japanese content using piracy and, more recently, the streaming service Crunchyroll.

Netflix last month debuted its very first original anime series, the quirky Neo Yokio, with Jaden Smith lending his voice to Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig’s bizarre blend of Eastern, Western, and online culture. The company has had success bringing Japanese-only productions stateside in the past with generous licensing deals, with shows like Knights of Sidonia and Ajin: Demi-Human finding audiences in English-speaking markets.

Netflix also helped thestudio behind those two series, Polygon Pictures, produce a full-length film version of the classic manga Blame! Now, it looks like Netflix wants to get more deeply involved in the original anime game, and Neo Yokio, alongside its live-action adaptation of popular manga and anime series Death Note, is just the beginning.

Anyone check black cover yet? I’m liking so far

My homie been telling me to check that out....

This trailer doesn't even begin to illustrate how sick this anime is. Anyone who watched this trailer and was not impressed, take our word for it; just watch the first episode...

:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

yup....i think something was in that tea to have ol' girl act like that.

I'm actually shocked she didn't use her birds to see,if the streets were clear or at least took another route....

Ox was chilling before she came....

I agree...

I definitely recommend watching Fate Zero last because a lot of shit from Fate Night makes sense... especially when you think about how dude ended up like Archer.. it's basically the same cycle that happened to his adopted father. The same guy that Archer held to such a high standard.

Really good shit...

You making me want to start over from the beginning and watch them all...

Ok... so again it's not anime but I just binged this today on Kodi. I'm not a fan of DisneyXD's schedule.

But this show Mexh X4 is actually kind of legit.
It reminds me of a modern power ranger type show. I initially started watching because it's extremely rare to see a Sci-fi show with a primarily minority cast and you have two black kids as the main protagonists. Granted it's not the deepest thing in the world... it is Disney after all..

But if you veiw it like watching an episode of Power rangers it's impressive. I'm really impressed by the fact that this thing does not come across as cheap at all.

I seek out Sentai episodes...might have to make this a date with the kids

So,Hunter X Hunter is on another hiatus.......:smh::smh::smh::smh:

I think I'm just going to drop this fucking manga. Something,I've never done.

:fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay::fuckyousay:

Man you know the deal.... lol Its been like this for a long time. I feel your frustration. I can barely keep up with all the damn detail and then BAM Hiatus X Hiatus strikes again.

Ill tune back in next time I see it posted.

But...

I understand the mangaka has health issues,but the main problem is that he doesn't want to hire one or two assistants to help him like most mangaka does....:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

On top of that,I guess he's not hurting for money since he married the creator to Sailor Moon,but still he needs to stop this bullshit.

Just about to say that.
Just gonna have to be patient...hope he finishes the story...At least he doesn't put in as much detail as dude who do Beserk does...

Ok...Hulu has all the episodes (subbed) of Fist of the North Star

Yall making me want to pull shit out

I know it's not new, but anyone got DC links?

The birds were still digesting the Boar, plus she was occupied on why she didn't kill the monkey

She should of stayed with Rat and Monkey then again she's not that type of person..Especially,when you probably need more than one person to kill Rabbit and Ox...

Full Metal Alchemist is one of my favorite anime. Both the original and the Brotherhood version. I want to see a real live action depiction of the story, but I don't think this story can be told in 2 hours. at least not properly

Might do like 20th Century Boys and make it a two parter.

For those looking for overlooked anime... you might want to give Aldnoah Zero a Shot. The full series is on Netflix. It’s about 24 episodes and it’s one of my favorites. I’m a huge fan of anime where the lead character defeats an overpowered enemy not with brute force but with strategy.

Another show that I really like is on Hulu. It’s another regular guy defeating overwhelming odds with strategy show.

Heavy object

So Sony pictures just bought Funimation.

The good news is that hopefully they can fix their broken video player. The bad news is that my fear is that Sony is going to end up making dubs exclusive to playstation.

Just finished both of the newer macross shows and then decided to start from the beginning and watch the original macross...

Did anyone else know that the chick that voiced Linn Minmay was a fox back in the day.

RUROUNI KENSHIN Manga Creator Arrested For Child Pornography, Manga Goes On Indefinite Hiatus

Back in September 2017, the Rurouni Kenshin manga began anew after concluded 20 years prior. However, a few months later, the manga's continuation appears to be in jeopardy as the series' creator, 47-year-old Nobuhiro Watsuki (real name Nobuhiro Nishiwaki) was charged with possessing illegal child pornography. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department reported that Nobuhiro reportedly kept tapes of early-teenage girls in his office in Tokyo. If found guilty, Nobuhiro faces up to 1 year in prison and a fine of US$8,800 (1 million yen). The police report apparently contains Nobuhiro's admission of guilt, which reads, "I liked girls in the higher grades of elementary school to the second grade of junior high." Possession of child pornography didn't become illegal in Japan until July 2015.

Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is putting the series on hiatus after the December 4 issue and released an official statement on the matter. "Receiving the media reports this time, we take this matter very seriously. The author is really reflecting upon himself."
