The recession killed off 7.9 million jobs. It's increasingly likely that many will never come back.

The government jobs report issued Friday shows that businesses have slowed their pace of hiring to a relative trickle.

"The job losses during the Great Recession were so off the chart, that even though we've gained about 600,000 private sector jobs back, we've got nearly 8 million jobs to go," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director of Economic Cycle Research Institute.

Excluding temporary Census workers, the economy has added fewer than 100,000 jobs a month this year -- a much faster and stronger jobs recovery than occurred following the last two recessions in 2001 and 1991.

But even if that pace of hiring were to double immediately, it would take until 2013 to recapture the lost jobs. And the labor market very likely doesn't have years before it gets hit with the shock of the inevitable next economic downturn.

"It's virtually certain that the next recession will come before the job market has healed from the last recession," said Achuthan. (Read 'Stimulus: The big bang is over')

More frequent recessions: Despite signs of slowing economic growth, Achuthan is not predicting that the U.S. economy is about to fall into another downturn later this year.

But a combination of a slower growth and greater volatility is a prescription for as many as three recessions over the upcoming decade, he said.

"We've entered a era where the United States will see more frequent recessions than anyone is used to," Achuthan said.

People that I worked with in systems administration in the 90's are hard up for work, and these are people with computer science degrees who are as current on shit as anybody. Problem is that with advances computer networks, and remote administration methods and software, an organization can get by with a lot fewer sysadmins, for the same reason they can easily send lots of software development and testing jobs to India, Ireland, Israel, or whereever.

The was the federal reserve operates is that the working class are considered assets.
Our fiat money system is created, by debt, on the notion that we the working class, will pay it back with our taxes we pay with jobs we have. As long as we are looked upon as assets, we will be protected. However, once unemployment reaches a certain rate, and we are no longer assets to make money off of, we will then become a liability, or a burden and thus it would be in the best interest of the people who are losing money by us, to cut their assets by getting rid of us.

Before any of that happens, the white man will do everything in his power to save his ass, by disassociating himself with us. Meaning he would point out all of our short comings, first, thus making himself, seem less expendable (a tactic used by the tea baggers right now).

In the end, it would be like a giant game of real life musical chairs, but unlike the game there wont be any random stoppage of the music instead, it would stop ,mostly so that we are eliminated first. Right now the argument isn't whether or not this will happen, but rather, how long would it, before it goes down.

True except when they begin to crunch and spin the numbers to create concrete states that show how we blacks have been under performing, and that the educational system, is a poor investment of taxpayers money, due to our low graduation rates, inferior S.A.T. scores coupled with high drop out rates.
If shit really hits the fan we will be judge based on the performances of our race, and location rather than individual performances. People, after the tech bubble you should've known something was wrong and kept only one foot in the running position. Some might say there should've been measures taken in the financial system after the latin america crisis.

Look the US and most westernized countries are in a rough situation (though ths US is a bigger issue because they have a larger populace) but the world isn't going to end. The rest of the world lacks what we possess in the infinite quantity: ingenuity.
