It’s looks like video has once again come back to bite someone in the rear.
The latest? Rapper 50 Cent is going to court in June after he put footage of a rival rapper’s ex having sex on YouTube, according to the New York Daily News.


50, real name: Curtis Jackson, 39 is slated to testify in court for putting a video of Lastonia Leviston, who has a child with rapper Rick Ross, on his YouTube channel. The video got more than 3.2 million viewers. In 2010, Leviston sued Jackson for emotional distress.
Says The News:

According to court papers, Murray gave Jackson the tape in 2009 after Jackson, 39, recognized Leviston as former girlfriend of the rapper’s rival, Rick Ross. She is also the mother of Ross’ child.
Before posting the tape on the Internet, Jackson altered the tape, inserting himself into it. He blurred Murray’s face but not Leviston’s and she says the mental and emotional distress almost caused her to commit suicide.

Jury selection is slated to begin on May 26.
Jackson, who is the executive producer of the Starz channel’s hit TV show, “Power,” tried to have the trial postponed until October. The judge in the case refused.

50 Cent is being sued by a Florida woman who claims he unlawfully distributed her homemade sex tape over the internet after he edited himself into the movie wearing a wig as his "Pimpin Curly" character. Lastonia Leviston filed suit Wednesday (February 24th) in Manhattan court saying 50 used the tape she made with her lover, who 50 blurred out, back in 2008.

So is the lawsuit over the infamous porn tape that 50 Cent put out that he said featured Rick Ross baby mother, Brooke? Thats all we can think of…As "Pimpin Curly," 50 talks throughout the entire 13-minute video offering his funny commentary on things taking place."Now look man, I'm gonna show you some sh*t man," Curly says before showing the video. A Manhattan judge says rapper 50 Cent can be sued for posting a sex tape to his web site featuring the former girlfriend of a rival.

Judge Paul Wooten said there was compelling evidence that the reckless rapper’s posting of the X-rated video on his website — which receives millions of views — nearly drove Lastonia Leviston to suicide.

The Queens-born rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, had argued that Leviston, who had a child with rival rapper Rick Ross, was bluffing that the publicity caused her major depression and anxiety because she was able to get her high school equivalency diploma and hold down two jobs after the 2009 posting.

The video was picked up by multiple websites and viewed almost 4 million times.

50 Cent allegedly bought the racy home video from Leviston’s former boyfriend Maurice Murray, even though she claims he promised to destroy the footage.

The Florida woman’s diary “reveals that Leviston entertained suicidal ideation as a result of the release of the video tape, and that she was unable to function normally in her daily life,” Wooten wrote in his decision released Thursday.

50 Cent even blurred out Leviston’s lover’s face, but left hers recognizable and edited his alter ego ‘Pimpin’ Curly’ into the video.

He dubbed Leviston a “call girl” named Brooke in the spot. Leviston says in her 2010 suit that she was never a hooker.

The Platinum performer said his “sole motive [for releasing the video] was to respond to Ross’s ‘disrespecting’ him,” according to court papers.

But Judge Wooten found that the hijacked home video “generated interest” in 50 Cent and attracted traffic to his website.

He will let a jury decide whether the woman’s mental suffering was “genuine and extreme.”

Leviston filed suit in 2010 seeking unspecified damages.

50 Cent’s attorney did not immediately return messages.

In 2008, Leviston who lived in Florida, testified that she met nonparty Maurice Murray (Murray) in New Jersey (Opposition, Leviston EBT, exhibit A at p. 36). On June 30, 2008, Leviston and Murray filmed themselves having sex at Murray's apartment in Newark, New Jersey, using Murray's camera (the Videotape) (id. at 66-67). According to plaintiff, the two agreed that the Videotape would be kept private, just for their own use (id. at 69). Leviston and Murray broke up twice, and each time they discussed either giving the Videotape to Leviston or destroying it. The first time they broke up was around Labor Day in 2008. They reconciled in January of 2009, at which time Leviston tried unsuccessfully to find the Videotape, which Murray said he could not find (id. at 84-88). Leviston maintains that June 30, 2008 was the only time that she was ever videotaped engaging in sex (id. at 70). She denied ever being a call girl or companion, although she acknowledged posing for a magazine that included her photograph as that of a call girl, by the name of "Brooke."

Some time during the first half of March 2009, Murray brought the Videotape to Jackson, whom he had never previously met (Opposition, Jackson EBT, exhibit C at 15). Jackson testified that he never had any contact with Leviston, nor did he speak to her about the Videotape (id. at 77). Upon viewing the Videotape, Jackson stated that he recognized Leviston as the mother of Ross's daughter (id. at 17), and gave the Videotape to his computer person, Christopher Singh a/k/a Broadway (Singh), who took material off the tape and converted it into digital format so that it could be saved to his computer and edited (id. at 34-35; Opposition, Singh EBT, exhibit E at 37).

Jackson testified that he decided to inject his character, "Pimpin' Curly" into the Videotape, and performed a skit that was spontaneous and not rehearsed (Opposition, Jackson EBT, exhibit C at 35-37). Singh ran the camera, and edited the Videotape, blurring Murray's face in order to protect his identity, yet Leviston's face was not blurred (Opposition, Singh EBT, exhibit E at 41-42; Corentin Villemeur EBT, exhibit D at 77). On the tape, Jackson states that [*3]he paid for the Videotape, which he reasserted in a radio interview with Tim Westwood that he "paid a few dollars" (Opposition exhibit H at 5), however at his deposition, he denied paying for it (Opposition, exhibit C at 76-77, 102-103).

Dr. Wilson diagnosed Leviston with PTSD as a result of the exposure of the Videotape, as well as major depressive disorder which flowed from the PTSD (exhibit T at 60, 93-94, 113-118, 131-132, 138).

In October 2011, Leviston was evaluated by Dr. Louise Fitzgerald (Dr. Fitzgerald), a clinical forensic psychologist and Emeritus Professor at the University of Illinois (Opposition exhibit U, appendix D). Dr. Fitzgerald diagnosed Leviston with severe major depressive disorder, with anxiety disorder not otherwise specified, with all the symptoms and impact of PTSD (id. at 35-36). Dr. Fitzgerald concluded that the release of the Videotape exacerbated her conditions.
