Honestly have the blacks in Philly given up?

This is exactly the mentality the whites want Blacks to have about their neighborhoods.

"It's bad, move out, so we can move in"

The 57th street area people were talking about is extremely valuable real estate. Within a six block walking distance: El train, 6 different Bus routes, Grocery store, Police station, Fire station, hospital, High schools, elementary schools, Library, ymca. I95 is 15 minutes away driving and the airport (bus or train will get you there).

White people will not move to areas that are not safe or valuable. I drove my car, caught septa, and walked all over the city during the summer. No problems.

Yea Philly has potential. If they could get the crime under control and more police presence

Crime is very easy to solve. You get jobs into the city and all the other stuff will fall off, you start punishing criminals and lock them up for good, and crime is going to fall off.

But that the thing there are Jobs in philly. there just arent many Low-skill jobs. Most of the new jobs required at least a associate degree of some sort of trade training.

Black males high school grad rate 47 percent in philly.....What happens to the 50 percent that dont graduate.....Usually No job skills =life of Crime.

Philly has lots of colleges but the college Dropout rate is crazy. Like only 40 percent actually graduate......Another group of Unskilled workers....http://www.graduatephiladelphia.org/

Every american city is facing the same problem what do you with the low skilled worker.

My answer is start renewable energy plants and Produce energy......get these cities producing something again..

The Clean up the city initiative is a good one.

Get the low skilled workers skills they need. They have the campaign and programs there

People GOTTA DO FOR THEMSELVES AS WELL!!! DAMN!!!

I haven't given up. Back in school, Marketing degree in a few months, and networking with all the directors at my employer. I have to go hard, not only for me, but for my daughter.

Congrats man if only more people in the city and across america would make the same moves we would be a better country.

This U-turn program is pretty good also http://www.projectuturn.net/index.html

If you address the Dropout crisis you help job creation and reduce crime at the same time

Philly seemed quiet to me this Summer, hopefully a sign of things to come.

if Philly is the aunt, baltimore is the fucking uncle!

I went to bmore once and was dumbfounded. I haven't seen ignorance like that in some time. I really think I just went there on the wrong night lol.

damn between this, my giants beat phillies thread, and the turner bashing on the RoY thread philly is taking it in the neck on bgol tonight
Easy bruh, only one game.

I do not have facts, just anecdotal theories, and I think if you were to check college registrations at the neighborhood colleges and universities, you might see a huge increase in admissions. Or it could be: that damn heat. If folks aren't on the streets then they aren't in the morgues.

If I do buy more property it will be in the art museum area. Its an established progressive community. I dont know if I can take a chance on "up and coming" areas like Brewery Town. Brewery was supposed to be the next spot to come up and its right behind fairmount. But I still see to much influence from North Philly

cosign. To me there is a serious shortage of dime pieces out here too because of all the fucking knuckle heads. Its not like other cities where you see a fine women 1 out of 4 times. Here it may be a fine women seen once a month...maybe

 This is some real talk. You go from Philly to Miami. Its like a damn parallel universe when comes to females.

We got a abundance fat funky attitude broads and simping ass niggas enabling these bitches :smh:

For real I used to Live in southwest off Woodland ave. I never.. ever saw a dime piece, ever. Saw some 5 level African babes, and some Haitians. It seems like they don't live in the area.

I go to Atlanta and women are actually saying "Hi" and "Hello" I was shocked. I thought something was up, only to realize I was programming by the Ug Moes of "SouthWest" Philly.
