So if the Republicans overturn the the 14th Amendment (which of course they don't have enough power to do so) where will you cats go? That would essentially revoke the citizenship of most Black people in America!

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Sandford,[1] 60 U.S. (19 How.) 393 (1857), commonly referred to as The Dred Scott Decision, was a decision by the United States Supreme Court that ruled that people of African descent imported into the United States and held as slaves, or their descendants[2]—whether or not they were slaves—were not protected by the Constitution and could never be citizens of the United States.[3] It also held that the United States Congress had no authority to prohibit slavery in federal territories. The Court also ruled that because slaves were not citizens, they could not sue in court. Ok, let me clarify, you cant just get rid of an amendment without replacing it. And the only provision that would be in question is citizenship as a birthright to children of non-residents. What im saying is your scenario would never happen.

Amajorfucup is right, what you are saying is too general and inaccurate.

Congress does not have any source of powers to "delete" amendments. Congress can propose new amendments that repeal prior amendments. What was the last amendment to be repealed? The 18th Amendment, aka the "Prohibition" amendment, by the 21st Amendment.

What you're stating is that the Republicans will "overturn" the 14th amendment, which is completely inaccurate. Not only is the process of "overturning" only applicable to adjudicated court cases not Constitutional amendments, but the specific provision of the 14th Amendment that is under the scope is §1 naturalization clause.

There is absolutely no way that the Congress will completely repeal the 14th amendment as it grants one of the most important constitutional safeguards for citizens: the state mandate of due process.

To my understanding the GOP were trying to amend the 14th amendment to make it impossible for a non citizen(illegal immigrants) to have a child in the US and that child be an American citizen. Overturning the bill is news to me.

Correct, and the only part of that amendment that deals with citizenship is Section 1, correct? The same section that granted slaves and their descendants citizenship. The Supreme Court ruled in Dred Scott vs Sandford that slaves and children born to those slaves could NEVER be US citizens. The 14th Amendment basically overruled that decision.
