Anybody know the story behind that, because she seems so adamant about never preforming with Howard and Jeffery again, but she's in that video with both of them. Who managed to pull that off, does Babyface have that kind of pull or did somebody offer Jody a nice check?

Yeah this video came out in 1996. Babyface in 1996 definitely had the pull to make it happen. But they did not record vocals together, and if you look at 2:02 that is clearly a composite shot and the three aren't even in the same room.

She didn't really "perform" with Shalamar (specifically, the egomaniac Hewittt) in this video. Showing up for a guest appearance (on your own song) for someone else is not exactly the same thing. She did sing the vocals on the track so why wouldn't she be in the video??

The Babyface version of the track was a MUCH bigger hit than the original, so she made the right decision.
