EVO = A Touch Pro 2 with a couple Addons & a Different OS. That's why HTC never offered a Update to the Android OS for the Touch 2. It's a nice phone, right along with the rest of their shits. Main Reason I didn't give up My Nexus was it's basically the same phone as the rest. The IPhone 4 is no different than the 3 Basically. My Blackberry I don't use because RIM is @ a Stand Still far as Them doing anything different. I admit, the EVO does shit that I've never seen other Phones do, but it's shit I won't even use.

What's really new to learn on the EVO? I would like to know

If you never used android you have to learn the OS. Just like when i get my first windows mobile phone i had to learn how to use it. When i got my iphone i had to learn how to use it. When i got my EVO i had to learn how to use it. It guess it boils down to personal experience. I'm a tech head so i go beyond just the OS i damn near open the fuckers up.

Logical response because you have the nexus you know what to expect. I had a iphone so i know what to expect.

That's true even if You go from a Nextel Blackberry to a Sprint one. The OS is the same, but the phones are Slightly different. When I got the nexus, it was a lot different, but what I'm wondering is. What does the phone really do different. I was/want to get the EVO, but I rather some of you Guys really explain the Key points. My Boy has the Evo & He's really not a Gadget Person. (I think He got it just to have it) I didn't play with it long enough to see any Difference to the Nexus. They ran the same speed Basically, the 2 way Video Chat I won't use. I want to know what the Phone did/does to make you a Owner of one.

I don't this k it is a matter of learning. If you can use a computer then you most definitely can use a smart phone. Its a matter of getting used to the os.

I'm not familiar with the nexus so I really can't compare them. At this point you good because you can install Froyo. I still have to wait for it. I'm sure someone on here can compare the two. I had a iphone so for me missed being able to swap batteries, wanted a bigger screen, sick of being force to use itumes, and it was just outdated hardware. As a tech head the outdated hardware did it in the most and its only a year old. All hardware will be outdated but when it starts to feel outdated is when you know its time for a upgrade. I live by the jailbreak code that it has to be done to the iphone. I love my jailbroken 3GS that's why I'm keeping it. But its nice to have so much freedom again.

Getting used to the OS is the same as learning the OS. You learn what does what and the quickest way to do it. Still a form of learning but you will pick it up faster that people who can't use a PC or never had a smart phone..

That's because we're all being tricked into thinking we need shit that we don't.

A smart cat would look at the features he needs and get the phone that does them best.

Best at music and games. New iphone.
Best speeds & most innovative features. Evo.
Fastest and most reliable text/ email. Blackberry.

Exactly. Some of my friends have blackberry's and they may not be able to do shit that my phone does but they kill me in the text and email game. Music is a toss up because i use wireless headphones. On my 3GS i can't use my track skip buttons on my headphones. So when i workout i have to pull out the 3GS and change tracks. On the EVO the track skip buttons work so i don't need to pull the phone out at all. Also my music sounds better coming from the EVO than the 3GS but the 3GS is a older phone. I expect the iphone 4 to be better at this.

I have a nexus but You have to admit That the 4.3 screen is damn impressive. I'm not huge on cameras but that's a slight upgrade as well. But let's not forget the big 4g elephant in the room which may the reason that I switch. Tmobile has until July to show me something.

:smh:T-Mobile won't have anything worth it by July. The screen is nice, but I can do without. My main thing is Performance & the EVO 4 doesn't really out perform My Nexus. It's a slight faster, hell with the Flash turned off. Nexus is faster. The Text & Email, You can learn tricks to make it just as fast as a Blackberry

The HD2 is a beast. I just copped it and I love it. Widows Mobile does everything I need it to do. I'm not an app freak. I just needed tethering. I have my Blackberry 8900 for backup.

Wait until Project Emerald from T-Mobile. It's unclear exactly what it is, but their expected to announce a new, high powered Android device, and possibly activate HSPA+ on the Nexus One to compete with the Evo.

I think they'll be announcing the new Samsung Galaxy S. I GHz Snapdragon Processor, 8-16 GB on board memory, Micro SD card slot, 5MP camera/camcorder. With Froyo, the Galaxy S could run with some of the big boys.

A 4G Galaxy S is supposed to hit Sprint later this year. Sprint may actually be serious about stepping up their phone game this year.

This is what I was about to say. Galaxy should be launching by the end of this month beginning of July, and HSPA+ will go full in the Washington DC area this week beginning of next week.

I love my Nexus but I'm still tempted to grab the Galaxy when it drops.

Will the new HPDSA+ or whatever it's called require a new radio so the current phones can't use it? Or will it be compatible with the older radios as well?

So what other phones are coming that i should wait for?

lol see how they got us thinking now.

break the chains brotha. they turning us into fiends for their profit. My girl has a Droid and almost copped a Nexus 1. They are changing the way we buy mobile. They are purposely making shit obsolete at a quicker pace so the sheep can run out to buy some new shit at retail since you aint due for an upgrade.

Nexus One is the only current T-mobile phone with the 3G+ radio, it's just not active, but can probably be turned on with a baseband update from T-Mobile

Yep. That's why they talking about dual core phone CPU's when it's not even needed. Shit 1GHZ is more that enough for now.

trust & believe I ain't on that game, I'm still rocking a HTC MOGUL, I wasn't going to purchase anything new until they had something that was a quality phone that wouldn't go out of style(obsolete) so quickly, i've had this phone for over 3 years i'd say, & i can upgrade yearly as a vip member or whatever they call it... I just can't bite the bullet & pull the trigger on anything.. this thing is trash now, there are no updates for the phone, my text msgs are all messed up & say 2016 since the beginning of this year.. So please save the speech & just tell me a quality phone to get or wait for.. thanks

Thanks for bringing me back to reality! Real talk... I was almost ready to take the EVO plunge. Not saying I won't, but it will be an informed decision. Thats why I rock with the Blackberry. It covers my needs.

i upgraded from a TP2, granted the HW is enuff to suffice android, but the EVO is a different animal, to call it a souped up TP2 pisses me off, cuz that phone pissed me off daily. lol.

Yeah man me to. I got rear ended and i tried to call someone and the shit locked up 3 times. Took me 15 minutes to make a call.

IMO...anything Windows mobile based is inferior to damn near every OS so to compare a nexus or evo to anything that's sold in the store is an insult. The evo is not worth jumping carriers unless you're on verizon. I personally liked my nexus better than this evo. And the evo camera sucks compared to the nexus camera

Real talk, all dudes is doing is filling the pockets of already rich excecutives and so forth.

At the end of the day, it's just a phone man... not really that serious. I love tech as much as anyone else but "just say no":hmm:

And to the OP,

The Pre is just slow but it's not a bad phone and the notification system is better than anyone else right now, if you just want to rock a regular phone that you can keep in touch and has a better GUI than blackberry, the pre ain't a bad choice.

For me i gotta say that a fast as new phones are being released today it's best to just pick what you like and roll with that. i've been a Pre owner for almost a year and i have to say that it's been a somewhat bumpy ride still in light of what I've seen from other phones, i might just wait until the Palm/HP merger settles and see what they announce. sprint has the annual upgrade plan so being stuck with less than the best phone isn't that big a deal. I'll be eligible in August so hopefully Palm will anounce something by then. most Pre and Pixi owners are griping about a new device so HP should announce something no later than Sept. I can wait that long.
