Former NFL star Micheal Irvin calls out his son on National TV for being a fake gangster rapper and lying in his music.

Most artists in music genres are putting on an act, it just seems more prevalent in Hip Hop.

Popular, unsigned or local rap artists are like WWE wrestlers (working a gimmick) or film actors playing a role and their artform of choice isn't film, stage or TV, it's music.

I love when they get called out for it too.

Also, the ones who aren't about that life get tested to the point they gotta change their image.

More fathers need to call out their son's for wanting to be a fake gangsta. I wished Ja morant dad called out his son for wanting to be fake tough after he became a superstar when he isn't about that life.

bwhahahaaaa fuckin hilarity...

gated community gangsta...LOL....

but his son, is just tryin to get some ass...

if chicks believe that bullshit he rappin about....

the knob will be slobbed!!

I aint mad at him... I understand!!!!

if he tellin dem hoes he a gangsta, he a gangsta

gatdammit

so what he goes shoppin for food in a golf cart

Yo, that’s what’s going on today. These little young niggas is romanticizing the 80’s -90’s and out here trying to live that shit. These young niggas got it good. We didn’t have the opportunities they have today. That’s where the whole OPPS culture comes from. Bamas making up beef. Shit, niggas was fighting for corners and hoods back in the day so they could eat…pump drugz. Bamas today don’t know nothing about that type shit until they watch Paid in Full and start wanting to act out. Bamas from my era wish they had those opportunities they have today to make bread. The clean way.

The propaganda that we are provided about ourselves is poisonous. We constantly consume this propaganda until it is subconscious. Our image of the Black male experience is drugs, hustling, and willing to shoot any other black man that gets in the way of what we want. A lot of Black men don’t see themselves as truly living the Black experience if they have not experienced the negativity they see on TV and hear in music.

:bravo:

My Brother was the first gangster in my family. Then I had a slew of family members follow him:

I have a cousin who was shot through the nose.
I have a cousin who has a bullet near his spine. The doctors didn't try to remove it for fear that they'd paralyze him.
I have a cousin who has buckshot in his back, and in the back of his skull.
I have a cousin who wears a colostomy bag from getting shot.

All of my family were/are 79 Swans (Bloods) in South Central LA (some say Family Bloods now). I watched all kinds of nonsense and foolishness from these idiots. I was doing homework one night and got a knock on the door from one of these gang members. "Hey Bro, your cousin got shot. He's lying on the grass on 78th and Central near Van's Liquor Store. I get over there, and sure enough, my cousin is lying on the grass bleeding out. I bend down next to him, and we're talking until the ambulance shows up. I asked him what happened (East Coast Crip drive-by). I asked, "Where are your homies? Your cousin is here with you, who doesn't gang bang. But, the best your homies can do is go get your cousin."

I told my sons early on, "Don't glorify that dumbshit. Look at your cousins and your uncle. Grown MoFos who don't have shit but a bunch of ratched baby mommas and health issues from drinking and getting shot." :(

Like the young dudes that looked at me with disgust after they heard that I'd never been to prison. :smh:

I hope they took heed to that message and it became a wake up call for them about their cousins and uncles.

I had a cousin that got killed in Washington DC when he got shot in the back of the head. He never wanted to listen and now he's in ground.

You know what's funny? Growing up in the PJs in the 70s, the hustlers & gangsters were trying to make sure we youngins didn't do what they did. I remember this one pusher telling me and my best friend "Y'all need to hit them books, 'cause this shit I'm doing ain't hitting on shit. I know both of y'all's daddies. Y'all need to listen to them niggas when they tell y'all the right thing to do, because this ain't hitting on shit. If I catch y'all trying to do this shit, I'ma beat yo' asses and send you home to your daddy, so he can beat it again." I'll never forget that.

This almost sounds like you are blaming "the white man" for what we subconsciously do. Which would be BS.

Nerdy smart rap does not sell!!!! It's more gimmicky and not taken seriously.

It's that "I'm only a real nigga" if I'm in the streets and in and out of jail BS that gets some Black folks fucked up every time!

WE, BLACK PEOPLE, have the power to change that narrative anytime we want! Not change it for others, but CHANGE THAT BS NARRATIVE FOR OURSELVES!!! The negative propaganda is mostly provided by US!!!

Now that's a true gangsta that cares about youngins to not have them being apart of that life. Some of these gangstas can save the youth while others have been the reason the youth have been in the streets which led to their deaths.

That's what real men do!!!

Say that they are doing something that they are not proud of and demand that their kids or other young people do better!

True, I've always said if black people came together to build their own they wouldn't need them CACs for shit.

There are two sides to every coin, Bro.
My Brother was the first gangster in my family. But, I was the first college graduate in my family.

All I can say is, if anyone is going to try to tell the story of the Black man's experience... tell both sides of this shit.

Every time we do that, a white woman gets "raped".
Or....

Programming programming programming…

Where’s everyone at that thinks the media (music/movies) isn’t one the ways to speed up our destruction

A lot of people have watched crime movies, tv shows, videos games and listened to rap turned out fine.

While others have turned to the streets since they never had any structure at home.

Why doesn’t nerdy sell? Because there’s no money behind it like gangta rap. It’s all about marketing. The white man knows about this too well

That’s the thing though, these obstacles are not designed to entrap all of us. Just some us to keep it rolling, it doesn’t care who.
