You wanna talk "Tangibles" House Democrats to Pass Their Own Stimulus Bill Despite Ongoing Talks with Mnuchin

WHICH PLAN/PARTY ARE YOU VOTING FOR???

  • DEMS - HEROES ACT

  • GOP - HEALS ACT

  • PROBLEM SOLVERS PROPOSAL

Results are only viewable after voting.
I created the thread to debate the REAL ISSUES we have to deal with TODAY. Not some fantasy bullshit. There are 3 proposals in the poll and no matter what happens WE ALL:

will get 1200 bucks from it
will get some level of unemployment comp for it
will see programs we either agree or disagree with funded from it
and black people especially will be affected by all of the plans in some way

so let's debate those plans and the parties they're from because WE ALL HAVE A DOG IN THAT FIGHT whether you want to believe it or not.

this is why you need to pick a plan TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR CHOICE becuz that's what happens in REAL LIFE...you have to be accountable for the decisions you make right or wrong.

Update the poll and I will vote.
become a congressman and propose it to the american people and I will otherwise I'm NOt acknowledging it and I'm DONE responding to you until you vote on poll.

IF YOU'RE JUST COMING INTO THE THREAD PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL BEFORE RESPONDING!

now that there is a third proposal being developed you can change your vote to the one that's closest to what you want.

House Democrats prepare new $2.4 trillion stimulus plan with unemployment aid, direct payments

The bill would include enhanced unemployment insurance, direct payments to Americans, Paycheck Protection Program small-business loan funding and aid to airlines, among other provisions, the person said. To reach the price tag, Democrats would chop roughly $1 trillion from their previous proposal for a fifth pandemic aid plan.

The party aims to restart stimulus negotiations with the White House after talks fell apart last month. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly pushed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to boost the administration’s roughly $1.3 trillion offer by another trillion dollars.

Pelosi directed Democratic committee chairs to draft legislation, according to Politico, which first reported on plans to craft another bill. The House could vote on a bill as soon as next week, but Democrats have not yet decided on a plan, the outlet reported.

I don't think anything will come before the election.
You are right. Congress goes on recess in October until after tge election. So, if its not passed by the House and Senate by next week and then signed by Trump, no stimulus before the election.

Yes. I do.

She gonna fuck as all and niggas don't get shit. She gonna fuck the democratic party over for the next 20 years. But ok.
Well, she's a millionaire so........

Pelosi is buggin. The Republicans are not moving from $1.3 Trillion.
The bipartisan proposal was 1.5 trillion. Anyone who thinks Pelosi seriously wants a bill is crazy. What better way to 'throw' negotiations than to come with a $2..4 trillion stimulus 2 months later and pretend that seriously trying to negotiate with a pack of grinches that already conceded as much as they ever will.

When they write the book on this period, historians will accurately point out she didn't want relief because she wanted to ensure the election.

Right!

It might backfire on this shady cunt though.

I find it incredible that the grinches always seem to get a pass and this :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: and somehow history never records the fucked up shit they do. Their behavior and actions no matter how atrocious always seems to be bearable meanwhile the people fighting against it get called all kinds of bitches win or lose.

Pelosi is a bitch for conceding and a bitch for not conceding...so she can't win no matter what she does. Meanwhile, bitch mcconnell rolls right along with no check on his shit whatsoever.

It's a reality grinches control the senate. At least 20 of those bitches voting NO on ANYTHING. The goal here should be SOME relief for the average citizen. Period. Not an wish list. Not idealistic thinking. Not what should happen in a perfect world.

I'd love the 3 trillion bill. Shit I'd love the 2.4, but the reality is as long as Mitch is wasting oxygen and the GOP controls the senate, that shit ain't happening. Pelosi is too smart and shrewd to not know this.

As such, the only conclusion to come to is that she never intended to strike a deal before the election. And that's some straight up punk shit to do to people who need help now and can't wait until Jan. It's some cold political strategy though, but people actually out here believing she is really trying to help them NOW. :smh:

Should be some super retroactive, make it rain type shit when the dems have the presidency and senate in January. Won't be a thing stopping fantasy land if this election goes anything how it's looking.

Absolutely. And the crazy thing is, poor people are so easily cajoled by these millionaires who are repeatedly touting that they understand the "working class." If you account for weekends, holidays, month long recesses, and 8 hour days, Pelosi, Lindsey Graham and other congressman earn your $1200 stimulus in about a day and your one week $600 bonus in about a half a day. So, they could never fathom what "regular" folk are dealing with.

Half of congress are millionaires. They don't even go grocery shopping for themselves anymore.

Yeah she's triangulating to shake trump loose...yep that's EXACTLY the strategy. Why shouldn't she...as we speak now the SCOTUS is going to be conservative-dominated which means the real potential for a bunch of laws and rights being overturned. So yeah she's fighting for a 2+tril stimulus knowing the repubs would reject it.

Well, in the voting, you agree with the Dems plan**. This means you SHOULD BE angry at the GOP for stonewalling something that's clearly reasonable and doable. You SHOULD BE motivated to getting out the vote and replaces as many republicans in the senate and house as possible. So that even if trump wins reelection Congress holds the purse and maybe he would be FORCED to have to compromise more than he has. and with a Dems dominated congress, his orange ass would be impeached the next time he steps over the line and this time WILL GET THROWN OUT. MAYBE if Biden wins and Dems get an edge in congress we can ALL get paid up in this bitch.

So yeah she's playing a hard gambit HOPING it will motivate Dems and people on the fence to get up off their asses and say WE ARE THE DECIDING FACTOR and WE NEED TO REMOVE THESE FUCKERS FROM OFFICE so that we can get the things that are right and true (Obamacare, student loan forgiveness, the environment, a check on Wallstreet, REAL social justice reform) done.

But none of that has occurred to anyone :smh: :smh: :smh: . You'd rather BLAME her for the holdup and mock what she's doing as folly. This is why BULLYS win and ASSHOLES persist because whenever anyone stands up to them they do it ALONE with NO backup. If Pelosi wins her gambit YOU WILL BENEFIT but you won't help to make that happen....this is why the Dems almost ALWAYS cave when it comes to showdowns with the GOP.

Bill Clinton said it right about how the republicans play the game.

"Democrats want to fall in love; Republicans just fall in line.”

Mark Cuban: Every household in America should receive a $1,000 stimulus check every 2 weeks for the next 2 months

Cuban says there are "two economies," or two sets of realities, right now: One for those able to stay afloat and one for those unable to. "Those without [help] are struggling badly," he says. "We need to get them help."

To provide that help, Cuban supports more stimulus checks being dispersed, he says.

Cuban says that all American households, no matter their income level, should receive a $1,000 stimulus check every two weeks for the next two months. He proposed this same idea in May and says "I still believe in doing it the exact same way" today.

Additionally, families would have to spend each check within 10 days, or they would lose the money, Cuban says. He believes this "use it or lose it approach" would be beneficial because it would promote spending, which would help businesses stay open and stimulate the economy.

"I don't care what they spend it on," Cuban told KNX 1070 News Radio in May. "It could be candy, it could be rent, it could be their mortgage, it could be anything they deem necessary or that they want."

Without mandating the money be spent within 10 days of receipt, Cuban believes many Americans will save it. "People are uncertain about their future, so rather than spending, they save," he says. He has a point: Many Americans have been saving more amid the pandemic than ever. In April, the personal savings rate hit a record high, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

With Cuban's plan, "the whole goal is to get that money every two weeks into the economy," he says. "Once businesses start having demand, even if they're closed and working online, then there is a reason for them to be able to bring back employees and retain those employees if demand is sustained."

Cuban acknowledges this plan would be costly. "There is certainly a lot of risk in this use it or lose it approach," he said in a tweet in May. "But it will allow for demand for non-essential products and services to increase, hopefully keeping most businesses alive."

It will allow for demand for non-essential products and services to increase, hopefully keeping most businesses alive.

"What's good about [Cuban's plan], and what's important, is he reflects the urgency of the situation," Marr says. "But I think you target money first for people that are hurting. People who are hurting and don't have other income, they're going to spend. I think if you did stimulus payments, they need to be targeted by income."

Affluent Americans and those who can work from home are able to save more, Marr says. Giving them extra money right now won't necessarily encourage them to spend more.

Marr would also do away with the "use it or lose it" approach pitched by Cuban, he says. "I don't think the 'spend it now' is workable," Marr explains. "The government could not keep track of that."

All in all, it does make sense to support additional stimulus payments, on top of "substantial unemployment and nutrition support," Marr says. "That combination of unemployment insurance and the stimulus checks in the spring and summer was very effective," he says. "It kept support for low- and middle-income people."

Where things stand now
To support the economy and struggling Americans amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Congress passed a record $2 trillion coronavirus aid package known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES, Act in March.

The legislation provided many Americans with a much-need boost, including a round of stimulus checks, enhanced unemployment benefits and insurance, and forgivable loans for small business owners through the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP.

However, since many of the CARES Act provisions expired in July, that support is dwindling.

But Congress has yet to agree on a second stimulus package. Earlier this month, Senate Republicans failed to advance their "skinny" coronavirus relief bill, as Congressional Democrats say the bill did not provide enough relief for Americans. In a hearing on Tuesday, House Democrats reaffirmed their commitment to a deal that includes a second round of $1,200 stimulus checks.

Some experts say that the death of Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the debate over filling the now vacant seat will make an agreement nearly impossible going forward.

"What we're seeing now [in Congress], is there is somewhat of a timeout, but there is no timeout for hunger," Marr says. "There is urgency [for a stimulus deal]. Congress needs to step up."

Like I said, I get the strategy. The problem is the average creature believes she is negotiating in good faith. She's not. It's a sham. People who are struggling might have made the mistake of budgeting as if negotiations were in good faith. The people who struggle the most usually plan the worst. You think they expected this hardball shit? Hell no.

Pelosi is so slick that she will give in just in time to have a stimulus pass before the election but the money won't hit until after Nov 3. Shit comes in that Friday. Don't fuck with her gangsta. :roflmao: So folks will get something for Nov and Dec and then January the wish list can happen. At least that would stop people from trying to trap squirrels for thanksgiving dinner. Get some money flowing for black friday too. Meanwhile, Trump doesn't get one benefit before the election.

Pelosi, Mnuchin plan last-ditch meeting over tentative deal on additional pandemic relief

WASHINGTON, DC – AUGUST 22: U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) speaks to reporters at her weekly press conference at the Capitol on August 22, 2020 in Washington, DC. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin planned to meet face to face for the first time in more than a month Wednesday in a last-ditch effort to seal a tentative accord on an additional round of coronavirus relief.
The Democratic-controlled House, meanwhile, moved on a separate track to overrun GOP opposition and pass a $2.2 trillion COVID-19 rescue bill as one of their final acts before leaving Washington to campaign.
Pelosi and Mnuchin were scheduled to continue negotiations in hopes of a deal that would permit another round of $1,200 direct stimulus payments, restore bonus pandemic jobless benefits, speed aid to schools and extend assistance to airlines, restaurants and other struggling businesses.
“We’re going to give it one more serious try to get this done, and I think we’re hopeful that we can get something done,” Mnuchin said Wednesday morning on CNBC.

Wednesday afternoon’s meeting at the Capitol is supposed to feature a new Trump administration offer. Mnuchin told CNBC that he expects the proposal to resemble a plan released a couple of weeks ago by the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus that totaled about $1.5 trillion — but was previously rejected by Pelosi and other top Democrats as inadequate.
Pelosi and Mnuchin have ramped up talks in recent days but remain far apart. The two have worked effectively together in the past and were key forces on a $2 trillion aid package that passed in March, but the bipartisan spirit that drove that measure into law has all but evaporated. Neither side has publicly offered the kind of concessions that would generate tangible momentum.

Republicans say they cannot stomach any agreement close to the $2.2 trillion bill that Democrats are pushing. The GOP immediately swung against Pelosi’s bill, saying the liberal Speaker isn’t serious. Even if Pelosi and Mnuchin were able to reach a tentative agreement on “top line” spending levels, dozens of nettlesome details would need to be worked out.
“Let’s see if we can get a compromise agreement with the Speaker, something that works, and then we’ll continue to work with both sides on all the exact language and the policies,” Mnuchin told CNBC.

Pelosi, D-Calif., has not budged an inch on a key demand of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who says he will not permit a vote on any relief bill that does not provide a liability shield for businesses, schools and universities that reopen.
Pelosi’s latest bill would revive a $600-per-week pandemic jobless benefit and send a second round of $1,200 direct payments to most individuals. It would scale back an aid package to state and local governments to a still-huge $436 billion, send a whopping $225 billion to colleges and universities and deliver another round of subsidies to businesses under the Paycheck Protection Program. Airlines would get another $25 billion in aid to prevent a wave of layoffs that are coming this week.

The proposal represents a cutback from a $3.4 billion bill that passed the House in May but remains well above what Senate Republicans are willing to accept. Republicans have endorsed staying in the $650 billion to $1 trillion range

House Democrats to Pass Their Own Stimulus Bill Despite Ongoing Talks with Mnuchin

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi indicated on Thursday that the Democratic-led chamber will move to pass their own $2.2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package, despite ongoing negotiations with the Trump administration and Republicans' disapproval of the legislation they plan to approve.

The California Democrat, though more optimistic on the prospects for a potential deal than she was previously, made clear that she and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin still do not have an agreement and remain far apart on several issues.

"I'm hopeful, but we do come at it from two different places," Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference. "We not only have a dollars debate, we have a values debate. Still, I'm optimistic."

"Nancy Pelosi is not being serious," McEnany said. "If she becomes serious, than we can have a discussion here. We raised our offer to $1.6 trillion ... It's a good offer, but it's one Nancy Pelosi is not interested in."

The discussions between Pelosi and Mnuchin will continue Thursday, amid pleas from airlines for immediate relief as they prepare to lay off tens of thousands of workers. For Congress, it is likely a "now or never" moment, as lawmakers prepare to embark Washington and hop to the campaign trail for the remaining weeks of the election. If a deal can't be reached this week, before Congress adjourns, there are few insiders in the nation's capital who feel an agreement will materialize before November 3.

Thats the chess move..

To expose the republikkklans of opposing and making

Excuses for anything

That helps the masses and rushing

Through all types of

Bail out and welfare for corporations

Already getting away with not paying their fair share of taxes

Republikkklans would be wise to checkmate them

Did you see what they arguing about? Here's a clue. It don't have much to do with what the American people are directly getting to hold off financial disaster for households. They both agree to the 1200/500 stimulus and are only 200 apart on the UE(400 vs 600).

Out that 2.2 trillion proposal, how much the American people get? Out the 1.65 counter, how much? American people got long stroked back in Late March with the CARES act and have been bent over for the last 2 months.

Do you think that the 600 billion difference between the 2 is going to the American people? Let me help you with the math. Stimulus checks are about 290 billion and unemployment another 200 billion(for 400 and goes to 300 bill for 600). So they ain't really arguing about money for us. The 200 difference in UE is only about a 100 billion of the 600 billion difference.

If this were about helping the people and not the election, the deal would be done. Republicans going to republican, but follow the math on this one. Folks being sacrificed to secure the election. :smh:

Exactly but republikkklans couldve made the dems look stupid and picked up

Millions of undecided votes..

But the republikkklans only know one direction...

They dont have the fortitude for a sneak attack like that..

All they know is being against something..one minute

Then doing the exact some thing

They violently spoke against..

They just indulge in hypocrisy..

And don't even realize the people finally waking up to the fuckery...

If they wouldve agreed to it and up the numbers..

They wouldve flipped that script...on the dems..

And wouldn't need to resort to voting fuckery...

Say man, you ready for some more fuckery? Some 'wait, this bitch serious" type fuckery? Just today, this bitch Pelosi asked the airlines not to furlough employees. Okay, cool. That's understandable.

But why did she then say a STANDALONE bill was on the table for airlines? Remember, this the same bitch who said a standalone bill for UE or stimulus can't happen. That's it's all or nothing.

This is exactly why diehards need to be slapped. She only gets away with shit because of the diehards who cape over and over. No shame in this bitch game. None. But this ain't the first time. She got a pass when she came back for standalone for the post office.

Politicians ain't shit man. :smh: The people who blindly follow them and cop pleas are even worse.

a democracy makes it tooo easy for the financially elite to fuck over the not so financially elite...

Im not saying be a republican..
