Samantha Marie Ware formally responded to Lea Michele's apology on Thursday, and the actress was not swayed by her former Glee costar's words. "All that her apology did was affirm that she hasn’t learned anything," Ware told Variety.
Michele apologized via Instagram on June 3, after Ware accused the actress of making her time on Glee a "living hell," and said Michele even threatened to "s— in my wig." Ware made the statement in response to Michele tweeting support for Black Lives Matter. In her statement, Michele apologized for being "perceived as insensitive," which Ware criticized in a tweet.

In the interview, Ware went into further detail about working with Michele on Glee, and alleged that the star tried to have her fired and that nobody on set stood up for her.

Ware, who joined the Fox series in its sixth season, said Michele made the threat during a large shoot in front of a crowd of extras and dancers, after Ware was "goofing around when the camera wasn’t on me."
“She waited until the scene was over and she stopped in the middle of the stage and did a ‘come here’ gesture, like how a mother does to their child,” Ware recounted, saying she felt humiliated. "I said ‘no,’ and that’s when she decided to threaten my job, and said she would call [Glee co-creator] Ryan Murphy in to come and fire me."
After the confrontation, Ware said she had a talk with Michele, who then "told me to shut my mouth."
"She said I don’t deserve to have that job,” Ware said. “She talked about how she has reign. And here’s the thing: I completely understood that, and I was ready to be like, ‘This is your show. I’m not here to be disrespectful.’ But at that point, we were already past the respect and she was just abusing her power.”

To make matters worse, Ware said no one on set stood up for her as they were afraid.
“Lea’s actions were nothing new, so I guess since it was such a common thing, my case didn’t seem like that big of a deal,” Ware said. “I remember the first day I actually spoke up and unfortunately no one did anything. They just shrugged it off, like ‘That’s her.’ No one was stopping these things, which is an issue because the environment was helping perpetuate this abuse.”
Ware said after Michele loudly threatened to defecate in her wig in front of others “some chuckled and some gasped ... but no one was going to stand up to her.”
“Everyone minded their business or said, ‘I’m sorry, I wish I had the power to stop this, but this is just the way it is, and this is just how it’s been’ – which means I wasn’t the first person to have been in that situation,” Ware told Variety.
Last week, Glee star Heather Morris admitted to being part of the problem, when she called Michele "unpleasant to work with" and took responsibility for "[allowing] it to go on for so long without speaking out."
Although Ware made clear she doesn't think Michele is a racist, she said her former castmate's wig comment was racially charged, given that “Black women historically are known for their wigs.”
“It shouldn’t have to take my tweet. When you tweet, 'Black lives matter,' that would mean you have an understanding of what that hashtag means, but it’s clear that it doesn’t,” Ware added. "Does Lea even know what a microaggression is? I don’t know. All that her apology did was affirm that she hasn’t learned anything. Am I calling Lea a racist? No. Does Lea have racist tendencies? I think Lea suffers from a symptom of living in this world in an industry that is tailored to white people.”
A representative for Michele declined to comment on Ware's allegations.

Disney Ditches Tucker Carlson Over Anti-Black Lives Matter Backlash
Disney will no longer run ads on Fox New host Tucker Carlson's show following his anti-Black Lives Matter comments.

Disney will no longer run ads on Fox News host Tucker Carlson's show following his anti-Black Lives Matter comments.

Carlson, who hosts Tucker Carlson Tonight, made the controversial comments on his June 8 show. "This may be a lot of things, this moment we’re living through, but it is definitely not about black lives," he said on the first day of George Floyd's memorial in Houston. "Remember that when they come for you, and at this rate, they will." A Fox News spokesperson later clarified that the "they" Carlson was referring to were Democrats and local politicians, not Black Lives Matter activists.

He also told his viewers that they did not have to be upset about Floyd's death at the hands of a white police officer.

According to Deadline, Disney and T-Mobile have cut ties with the host over his comments after receiving backlash for their association with the program. While ads for shows that air on the Disney-owned network ABC were recently broadcast, the House of Mouse stated that the advertisements were placed in error by third parties and that they will not be seen on the show again. "The ABC advertisements were placed on the show without our knowledge by third party media buyers who were unaware that we do not advertise on the show, and they have now been notified not to place any further ads," an ABC spokesperson said.

Disney has been a vocal supporter of the current Black Lives Matter moment. It stood with Star Wars star John Boyega after his passionate speech at a protest in London and made a $2 million pledge to the NAACP, part of a $5 million commitment "to support nonprofit organizations that advance social justice."

Disney-owned Marvel and Star Wars also issued statements condemning racism, and Marvel issued a rebuke of those that use the Punisher's symbol for white supremacy. Finally, LucasFilm kept up a Black Lives Matter message that was found on the statue of Yoda in front of the studio's headquarters in San Francisco.

This is the latest incident involving Carlson, pop culture and the Black Lives Matter movement. The Fox News host recently went after Elmo and Sesame Street for holding a children's town hall aimed at explaining systemic racism and the protests to kids.

"It's a children's show," Carlson said on the segment. "Got that, Bobby? America is a very bad place and it's your fault. So, no matter what happens, no matter what they do to you when you grow up, you have no right to complain. That's the message and it starts very young."

Lady Antebellum Secedes From the ‘Antebellum’

Lady Antebellum is no more. After a week of watching, listening, reflecting, learning, looking within, and all those other things the music industry promised to do, the country band has announced an official name change. They’re now simply … Lady A, the nickname their fans have been calling them “almost from the start.” “When we set out together almost 14 years ago, we named our band after the Southern ‘Antebellum’ style home where we took our first photos,” the Nashville trio explained in a statement. “But we are regretful and embarrassed to say that we did not take into account the associations that weigh down this word referring to the period of history before the Civil War, which includes slavery. We are deeply sorry for the hurt this has caused and for anyone who has felt unsafe, unseen, or unvalued.”

Frankly, Lady A is an objectively cooler name. It sounds like a spy character Lupita Nyong’o should play or a club you could not get into wearing cowboy boots. On the other hand, it also sounds like a celebrity perfume. But a little less racism in the world doesn’t hurt, especially since the band is opening its purse. Lady A plans to donate to the Equal Justice Initiative, a nonprofit that provides legal representation to prisoners, through LadyAID, the band’s philanthropic effort. The band isn’t the only one that’s looked hard at itself and the messages it sends. One Little Indian Records changed its name to One Little Independent on Tuesday. Gestures like this are long overdue, but who’s next?

Update, June 12: A Seattle blues singer named Lady A talked to Rolling Stone about her new name competitors today, saying, “I’m not about to stop using my name.” Anita White, a black woman who has performed under the name “for over 20 years,” said the band didn’t contact her before the decision, which she also criticized. “They’re using the name because of a Black Lives Matter incident that, for them, is just a moment in time,” she said. “If it mattered, it would have mattered to them before. It shouldn’t have taken George Floyd to die for them to realize that their name had a slave reference to it.” A rep for the band now known as Lady A told Rolling Stone they would reach out to White and weren’t previously aware of her name and career. “You found me on Spotify easily — why couldn’t they?” White told the magazine. She will release a new album as Lady A, Live in New Orleans, on July 18 and is readying new music that addresses the police killing of George Floyd.

@Camille

Holy sh*t

This white girl trying to come for Beyonce spot or something?!?

Taylor Tubbman?

Thank you, I can get behind this. Do your research and understand what happened dont just cry and say Im sorry. Open your eyes, look at your town, city and state. Hell even your own ancestry, they may be the reason also. Look at her research even if someone else did it its on her timeline, and not a retweet. Hell if it gets taken down after her petition I may buy her album. No I will buy one.

And that Lady Antebellum, please you know what that word represented. 14 years it took you to say wait what does this word mean oh for real we cant have that. Yeah right. Then they want to take Lady A from someone who already has it. Cause we are white and want it.
