For some reason, our people seem to hate Trump more than any other group. Especially our sistas. While I do believe Trump to be the a bad president, I don't get why we seem to hate him so much. When I look at policies, I can't identify any that seemed to obviously be aimed at us as a people. I've heard him called racist but I can't identify anything he has done as President that was clearly racist towards us.
The reason i'm interested in this is that Bill Clinton was LOVED by us during his Presidency even though he enacted policies that CLEARLY were racist towards us and disproportionately affected black folks negatively. My hypothesis is that the media has the power to form our opinion as a whole. Lets discuss....
I'm not going to go into a long spiel, Ill make this as short as possible. So much of the GOP's platform is trying to hurt black people, trying to impose some form of Jim Crow or segregation. The law should prevent such targeted action from occurring. The majority of white people have come to a Devil's Bargin with the 1%. You get your tax cuts and deregulation and we get some forms of segregation/Jim Crow. It is understood that most whites will be hurt by those policies but not as much. Since it doesn't specifically identify blacks, it's legal. White people want some form of segregation. They want white privilege in hiring but don't want to admit it. They actually feel that they're always the most qualified candidate. They really want progressive European style social programs but don't want lazy minorities to benefit from them.
If your hypothesis is the media is the reason behind the black political orientation, what is your spidey sense telling you why 70% of white men vote Republican? Why is Trump's approval rating in the 90's with white republican voters? Or do you think we're the only ones dumb enough to be influenced by propaganda? White republicans spend way more time consuming propaganda than any black people I know. They listen to talk radio all day, repost/retweet right wing propaganda throughout the day and then come home and watch a couple of hours of Fox News opinion pieces. In my experience, the average white person consumed at least 8 hours a day of right wing media. I'm betting the average black voter doesn't spend 2 hours of day in the liberal media ecosphere. Hell, most of the people in the media don't even look like us.
When I was around my white co-workers, they talked politics all day long. It was the majority of their conversations. Being a Republican is critical to their identify. When I'm with my friends and family, politics last 5 minutes. Conversation goes like this "All white people are racist. Duh! How u been? Did you see the game?"
Take a look at the video and understand Lee Atwater's place in conservative politics. He was business partners with Roger Ailes and mentor to Paul Manufort and Roger Stone. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's like the NFL, when you hire a coach from the Bill Walsh coaching tree, you know he's not running the ball down your throat.
the “both sides aren’t the same” argument is dead.
