Los Angeles actor and rapper Kaalan Walker has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting several aspiring models after luring the women with the promise of work.
Walker, 23, who has appeared in the films SuperFly and Kings, was taken into custody on September 11 in connection to a series of rapes that occurred in Los Angeles County, dating back to 2016.
According to a news release from the LAPD, in each of the incidents, Walker would reach out to women seeking modeling work on social media under the guise of wanting to hire them.
While alone, according to police, each of the victims claimed that Walker sexually assaulted them.
On Tuesday, Walker was arraigned in court on nine separate felony sexual assault charges and ordered held on bail totaling more than $1million.
Police are now trying to locate additional victims and are asking them to come forward.
On his Instagram page, where he has more than 72,000 followers, Walker wrote in July: 'I am the man I am today because of the love, care, understanding and affection of women, thank you for dealing with us men and helping us grow every day. Every woman matters ~'
The message was accompanied by a professional photo showing Walker sitting on the floor, surrounded by 11 young women in party dresses.
Walker has been rapping under the stage name 'KR' for several years and released his EP album titled 'The Intermission' last year.
Around the same time, Walker got his big acting break when he was cast in the drama Kings, starring Daniel Craig and Halley Berry.
Earlier this year, Walker acted in two episodes of the BET legal drama In Contempt, and later played a hot-headed gang member named Juju in the remake of the 1970s cult classic Superfly.
During a wide-ranging interview with Billboard this summer, Walker talked about being raised by a single mother and feeling like a 'loser' that nobody wold talk to growing up, before falling in love with hip hop.
He also opened up about his struggles with depression and his career aspirations in the realms of music and acting.
Police are asking anyone with additional information on Walker to call Van Nuys Area detectives at (818) 374-9500.
