Harlem Nights Actor Ji-tu Cumbuka has passed

The 1st film I ever saw him in was "Blacula"...
He was a wonderful character actor.

Wow....dude was in lots of shit in the 70's.
Pretty sure he was one of Kunta's teachers in Roots....and BB Kings bodyguard on Sanford & Son if i remember correctly.... dude went for a pen and Fred panicked cause he thought he was going for a gun. :lol:

Yeah that's him.... He was also in Brewster's millions and Richard Pryor's moving with Stacy dash and King Kong Bundy

Ji-tu was a personal friend.. RIP

Dag, I just listened to an old internet show he did an interview on a few years ago the other day. Harlem Nights is one of my favorite movies all-time.

When I saw Harlem Nights late last year I told my brother that he looked familiar and looked it up on IMDb to see that he was the strong man from Roots, the one who Kunta Kinte recognized once he got on the slave ship.
