So having a kid in her home is illegal and deserves a SWAT TEAM? huh? If anything, that's a reason NOT to bring the SWAT team.

Like you said Gene, they should concentrate on the over zealousness of police to use excess in situations that should be handled more delicately or with more tact and strategy rather than always calling for force (excessive in most cases).
She didn't need to die, but she's no Philando Castille, Sandra Bland, or Eric Garner, etc. She was on some shit that only works for militia white folks in the middle of nowhere to claim and be protected by multitudes with mini arsenals that DO NOT operate within normal, everyday society.

This is a situation that didn't need to happen. But ALL police departments need reform...this incident and department is no different.
HOWEVER, Faux News, the republican right, bigots across the country, and ignorant muthafuckas are going to use this incident and the response by BLM and the responses and call to action for this woman's actions in a mental unstable state to deconstruct and demonize all the powerful and positive momentum that BLM movement has built thus far...watch and see!
Yeah, I usually take a wait and see approach to anything Shaun King says. Seems like sometimes he can be more concerned with likes and shares than facts.
This is a battle for the minds in the middle(which is a lot of fucking people), and folks are just giving those on the other side easy ammo.
Can't tell these folks nothing about public opinion because they sit in their little groups and block folks who disagree with them. They think this problem will be solved by TELLING instead of CONVINCING. Much like Gaines, some are living in their own world where reality doesn't matter. I'm defending the use of a SWAT team being called in when a person who might be unstable is holed up in a home with a child in their presence.
A woman who refused the calls from her mother and boyfriend to surrender.
A woman in that state is a danger to the child, regardless if how she feels.
I'm not saying it's right or that she needed to die, but I understand, for the child's sake why they were called. Especially if she was coming off some "prepared to die with my child" shit.
I get wanting to stand by her and support her, but this might not be the same type of situation as we saw in Baton Rouge or Minnesota or countless other places.

The SWAT Team was so concerned with her child, they shot him. I heard of "tough love" but that's ridiculous.
At the end of the day if you have a gun and you are holding a child to protect you they will look at it as a hostage situation, and its not uncommon for cops to wait you out until you either start firing first (as they reported) or pop you if you start slipping..
In these cases they are also trying to prevent a murder suicide something that is very possible once negotiations start breaking down...

Folks are saying she had lead poisoning, this may be true, but guess what, you are judge by your actions not what you may or may not have...
For example someone breaks into your home at night, your not going to shoot him because he may or may not have lead poisoning, your going to pop him because of his actions...
& that's another police lie, you are taking verbatim what the police says.
