This is true, but he was asking for an excess of 16 million dollars a year. He's good, but I don't know if he's 16 million dollars a year good. And, with all the money that the Giants gave to JaNorris Jenkins who isn't even on the same tier I can't say he's wrong for asking that.
In the end, as the GM said a long-term deal was not within reach. At least this way they will get a third-round compensation pick next year
