Nashville or Memphis?

Nashville has the Gulch area which is kinda like Buckhead/Midtown in Atlanta...the place for young professionals to dine, shop, and live. Downtown area has nice townhomes, condos, and lofts in renovated warehouse district type housing near the Cumberland river/L.P. Field where the Titans play.

The area around Vanderbilt is dope, kind of like around Emory. You also have TSU, Fisk, and Meharry, for A/A cultural events, and there are plenty of music festivals. I'm sure Memphis has Nashville beat on food culture though.

I went to Nashville in 2011, and honestly I chose a bad time to go. Everything good was closed Sunday and Monday if I remember right. That's the days I was there until Wednesday morning. I hungout with friends an chilled. Nothing to do that was worthwhile. I wanna go back again. What I did see was nice and pretty laid back.

ive been to Memphis and maybe I don't know every street, but what I said is true from a tourist point of view. The school system is shit, I saw nothing but janky hoes who can't form a sentence, and there is also high crime. Don't hate me, fix your shitty city.

Never been to M-Town but have Nashville and it surprised me. Didnt realize how big and corporate it was til I went out there. It was chill, had some nice spots and what not. I saw more flashy snow bunnies than anything, but they got they share of black women as well. Ive always wanted to check Memphis out although ive always heard its very hood.

Nothing really wrong with either city. Here in Memphis there is a lot of self hating people here (something bad happen here people act like it only happens in Memphis). Which is why problems can't get fix. Now Nashville is ran by white people who try their best to grow the city while at the same time pull Memphis down in the process. So with that said, if I'm coming from another city and had to pick, I probably would go with Nashville.

I've been on this site for years and never thought I would see this poll on this board.

I've lived in both cities so here is my two cents on this topic.

1. Memphis has Nashville beat on strip clubs. Shit is pathetic up here.

2. Nashville has Memphis beat on chicks. Chicks in Nashville love a black man who is about his business. You don't even need game. All you have to be is black and professional and you have unlimited access to every race and nationality.

the problem with memphis/shelby county is that the county is divided up into 7 different city's/municipalities and all they do is bitch and argue with each other. They effectively just now ruined the school system. It's Jim all over again. They have let the politicians ruin what could have been a great area but we can't get out of our own way.

Nashville on the other hand did it right...it's a good place for job and the women are off the chain.

You can do big things depending on your skills. My mom been doing hair forever and makes a killing. She's also an manager at FedEx hub.

I only spent the night in both cities while driving east.
I'd pick Nashville. Memphis seemed ghetto and depressed economically and socially. Nashville seemed to be cleaner and financially better off.
