Even funnier how SNL is literally filled with nondescript mediocre white talent yet they cant find one marginally talented black comedic actress in fucking New York??!
It's one of the rules in the white ran entertainment business. Debra Wilson damn near carried Mad TV on her back for over a decade but some how SNL found room for the Victoria Jacksons of sketch comedy.

Everyone, male, female, black or white has to go through a process of getting acclimated to S&L... to expect any comedian to be ready for prime time immediately is unreasonable. Mad TV's first few seasons were crazy during a SNL lean time. It took SNL a little bit of time to compete with them and then Mad TV lost a lot of it's cast...
on SNL you have to write as well as play the parts in comedy sketches.

Gtfoh, you comparing the NFL to the XFL. SNL been on the air for years and ILC was on for less than a decade. ILC had possibly a allstar cast with like 90% gold vs 10% OK material compared to years of like 10% of every snl episode being funny. Even ILC's wackest stars had memorable skits. SNL is only still on because of cacs. That shit is unbearable, if you can't muster some laughs with Kevin hart gueststaring then u fucking suck.

I'm sure this plays a part as well as the "normal" racism of not seeing how they can use a particular Black talent. Their minds don't immediately see the Beyoncé (Maya Rudolph's excellent version notwithstanding) or Oprah or other high profile Black female parodies that become available.
That's what I've been saying the whole time. Kill him for what he actually said, not what somebody said he said, especially when his real quote is highlighted in the OP.
We shouldn't be comparing SNL to either ILC or Mad TV. ILC still had funny skits but it was a half hour and it fell off in the last years even with Chris Rock and Anne Marie Johnson. If it had a 3-4 decade run like SNL, it would have the fluctuation in quality as well.
All this sucking off of Mad TV (which I thought was funny) is crazy, they only had one Black female in their entire run.
