real talk, too bad you're fighting an uphill battle with this one though.
Personally As a black man,and a brother to my sisters I find the word highly incendiary and deeply offensive and since we all know that the is synonymous with lynchings and hangings, murders and rapes, the savaging of generations and the continued vicious divisions that lash our society.
When a white guy says it to me it's because he despises me. Whenever a black guy uses it with a flippancy that denies its potent force - it's because he despises himself. For that reason i believe in 2007 we as people have a chance to set a trend that other black owned forums will follow and that will make BGOL stand out from the rest

I've stated much of what you've addressed a dozen times. Their eyes are open they just refuse to see. But when as you say until someone says "fuck you nigga" then the reality sets in. Ready to fight, the feeling of being disrespected, the whole nine yards. Why now? You've called your brother's the same thing hundred's of times. Just don't feel the same when "Homer Whiteman" makes the statement, I guess.
I believe BGOL has already become that sanctuary. Yet there remains this cavalier attitude about who's on board. In addition there's those for some strange reason (maybe because this is primarily a porn board) that just lack the ability to understand whats important. Just seems to be lost with many board members.
You look at threads addressing the the recent march on Washington, Jena 6 and the negative responses mingled in, it always makes me wonder about who? Then too there's those who never address anything of social or political value. For how long is the question?

I'm trying to find a med-large black forum that is more/less N-word free, educated adults, professionals, women and men, etc. Please help if you know of any
Within every thread here you are guaranteed to find at least 5 N-bombs, 4 misuses of common 3rd grade words (their, they're, etc), 3 'cracka' haters, 2 feuding members, and maybe even a tranny poster if you're unlucky. What kind of picture does that paint of this black community? I need to move out its just that crack that keeps me in

African Americans aka "Black Folks" should ban the word themselves. Those who say that it takes the "sting" out of the word are ignorant. This is a word used by whites to degrade us. If we went around calling eachother "slave" instead, that would be considered stupid right?

I am not down to regulate what comes out of any body's mouth. If you don't want to be called that then make it known and if you are respected you will not be called out of name.
