RIP Adam West (Batman)

The thing about West was that he never ran away from the role even after the show was done. He (and Burt Ward) truly embraced it and the joy it brought to millions.

I saw that Dude at so many conventions throughout my Comic Fandom. And he always appeared to have a great time. Chatting with fans, taking pics, etc.

I'm just regret not having been persistent in pursuing those opportunities because it was always a madhouse at those booths.

Played it so deadpan. I'm surprised he didn't start laughing at some of his own lines.

Btw, I think every episode somebody was getting drugged with something in their drink or a powder being blown in their face. Ahhh, the 60's.

BATMAN STAR ADAM WEST MISSING FROM OSCARS 2018 IN MEMORIAM REEL
Share.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre director Tobe Hooper also among those left out.
BY JIM VEJVODA The late Batman star Adam West was notably missing from the 2018 Academy Awards' In Memoriam reel during Sunday's Oscars broadcast.

Oftentimes, actors omitted from the Oscars' In Memoriam reel are those generally who have been deemed more closely associated with TV than movies.

While he may have been primarily known for his role as the small screen's Caped Crusader (and, later, stints on Family Guy) on television, West did appear in several movies during his long acting career, including the 1966 feature film version of Batman.

West's feature film credits include Meet the Robinsons, Chicken Little, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, Geronimo, and the Young Philadelphians. West died last June at the age of 88.

Also omitted from the Oscar obit reel were Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergeist director Tobe Hooper, actors John Mahoney, Powers Boothe, Reg E. Cathey, Della Rees, Robert Guillaume,, Nelsan Ellis, and singer Chris Cornell (Casino Royale).

Even past Oscar winners were overlooked, including actress Dorothy Malone and singer Glen Campbell.
