Headed back to NO April 15th. This time for a week.

Make sure you get a real New Orleans snowball while you're down there - Pandora's, Hansen's or Rodney's in the east.

I think you're about a week or two off from the Jazz Fest...by far, that's one of my favorite festivals.

YO!!!

I wanna give a big shout out to a couple spots I hit when I was in New Orleans a few weeks ago...

Jaz's Daquiris on Claiborne & Louisiana. They had one of the finest women I seen in the city serving the drinks and the shit was STIFF!

Cajun Seafood on Washington & Broad. Pretty good food

Gene's Poboys on Saint Claude & Elysian Fields. GOT DAMN. Best fucking poboys!!! :itsawrap:

I've had so much fun the last 2 trips to H-Town & New Orleans that I've decided to relocate to Houston this summer. I got a lil broad out in NO so Ima be there out there a lot as well. Looking forward to this gulf coast life FULL TIME.

Deannie's
Drago's (for their Oysters)
Johnny's PoBoys (gotta have a poboy there)
Harrah's casino has a pretty nice buffet for no more than $30, and it's pretty worth it

The above (with the exception of Johnny's and Harrah's) are all seafood spots primarily. Also, make sure you get some beignets at Cafe Du Monde on Decatur street.

What's the best spot for a Po Boy? I want to try something that we (Black Folk) like and frequent.

Also any decent hotels along the river with nice views?

I went to the new location of Willie Mae's on St. Charles Avenue - the other one is still on St. Ann's street. The chicken was DEFINITELY good, but be careful that they offer everything they say they have. My husband and I went the day after Christmas and he doesn't eat chicken on a bone and that's all they had - no seafood, pork chops, etc.

Check out this link for more spots; I've personally eaten at a few of them myself.

Hope you've booked your hotel already - they go real quick during that time of year.

Try to stay somewhere downtown(CBD)/Garden District/French Quarter to stay in or near the action. It'll be hot as shit, but it's such a cool vibe during that time of year in terms of the culture, the music and the people.

Any festivals going on this weekend? Have some colleagues hitting it up this weekend (after St. Patty's day,) and staying through Tuesday. They're staying in the French Quarter too...
