Who got the best Shrimp Po Boys??

I'm talking soft french bread, light and crispy shrimp.

Where can I go to get the best?

Also your thoughts on Dooky Chase? Don't know if I should do lunch or dinner here. Your thoughts?

No problem!

Oh, and I always thought Dooky Chase was over-rated, but it's an awesome story about the Chase family, Leah Chase and how her restaurant and legacy has stood the test of time.

There are a bunch of other restaurants I could recommend, but, if visiting, I would encourage someone to try it...they're not open regular hours, though, from what I remember.

Gene's has the best imo. But they don't do Shrimp. I think Castnet in the East is the best for seafood.

Ah, I couldn't remember if they did or didn't - it's been years since I ate there. I like Castnet but I'd rather travel out the East to get my seafood - go figure!

how is the nightlife for a single black man down there. i'm thinking about going next weekend. any info is appreciated :)

Lots of beautiful women of all shapes and sizes...however, I'm a woman so don't know exactly what it's like for black men dating down there lol

If you want to find the black women, don't go to Bourbon Street, though. The casino, bars/lounges are where we hang out... women from New Orleans, in general, don't hang out on Bourbon unless tourists are visiting them lol.

There's always some corner store (or, as we say, corna stoe') in New Orleans that's going to have some banging ass food.

I did just see they have a hot sausage po-boy. Lawd, back in the day, that was a my weakness! lol

I'm going to NO in two days. Can anyone reccomend a good jazz club, Bounce club, and a good sightseeing tour?

Parkway's Tavern and Bakery (they have two locations, I think, around)
Gene's on Elysian Fields
Johnny's Poboys in the French Quarter
Domilise's on Annunciation Street

Sammy's on Elysian Fields has a damn good shrimp po boy and the other food that they have is good also

Taking Ms. Mask and two of the mini mask to the city, we might try both spots

Gene's and Sammy's it's time we as fellow Boot kinfolks visit every hot spot in the City.

I thought parkway tasted unseasoned to me

Mother’s is trash, I’ve never eaten at a southern restaurant that tasted so unseasoned

Dookie Chase is ok,

Like June said, a lot of corner stores have good po’boys

Triangle is a good spot

Bevi seafood co

I also like Cajuns on Claiborne

What kind of poboy did you get at Parkway? I usually stick to hot sausage or shrimp.
