2. Coaches want to see Tartt & Ward on the field as our future safeties, because they don't plan on re-signing Eric Reid
OR
3. A combo of both
This year is all about seeing what the younger guys can do, and seeing who is in the 49ers futures plans
Its all about evaluation, not really about winning (as you can tell)

There's no way they're going for Cousins. they traded a 2nd round pick which will be basically a 1st round pick if they keep losing
and they're going to sign him to an extension as soon as possible. Cousins won't be a 49er
Agreed. That 2nd round pick is high (especially if it’s our original pick).
I believe they sign him long term for money that will be much cheaper than what Cousins will demand.
