Yea I'm not feeling the Thomas pick at all
And ya'll know I wanted Malik Hooker anyway

Where is Soloman Thomas even going to line up ???
Are they going to have him rushing from the edge ???
Cause thats not what he did a lot of in college
Are they going to have him inside ???
Cause he's a little undersized for the NFL
And what does this mean for Arik Armstead ???

:smh::smh::smh:

Im with you on this brother!!..I guess John Lynch want to get a Stanford player for his first pick or something!!..im not really feeling this first pick!..

I think yall will like Kapri Bibbs,he's a speedy back that can catch the ball.

I wish the Broncos kept him :(

Thanks for the encouragement
Yea hopefully everything works out okay with him & most of our draft picks
We need all the help we can get

I see ya'll drafted Chad Kelly as "Mr Irrelevant"
That's some serious humble pie for "Swag Kelly" LOL
Dude has the physical tools though

I'm also curious to see where Kaepernick finally lands
Seems like all of the starting QB spots are filled already

Jacksonville might be a landing spot. A team that at least has a few pieces on offense.

From the pictures above

SAM: The starting Sam linebacker will be, Ahmad Brooks
Responsible for containing the run, or rushing the QB from that left side, or occasionally covering the TE
The backup SAM will probably be Eli Harold

MIKE: The starting Mike linebacker will be, Navorro Bowman
General of the defense, responsible for tackling
Funny thing is, Reuben Foster is also the perfect Mike linebacker
Foster could rotate with Bowman, if either one is not 100% healthy

WILL: The starting Will linebacker will be, ???
I'm not sure if they have Foster starting so early, we'll have to see how his shoulders hold up
So if not Foster, then competition between Ray Ray Armstrong & Malcolm Smith
I actually thought Ray Ray was pretty good last year in the preseason & week 1, before getting injured

LEO: I assume the starter will be Soloman Thomas (on running downs)
LEO needs to be the fastest most athletic D-linemen
On passing plays, we probably will take out the Nose Tackle, slide Thomas inside, then have Elvis Dummervill rush from that LEO position

1-Tech Nose Tackle: The starter should be, Earl Mitchell
Responsible for 2 gaps, and stout against the run
If Mitchell isn't playing well, Quinton Dial might be a consideration to possibly take his job

3-Tech: I think this will be Deforest Buckner's position ???
Responsible for rushing past the guard to sack the QB
Doesn't have to worry much about double teams, or 2 gaps
Not sure who will be the backup

5-Tech: I guess this will be Arik Armstead (on running downs) ???
Responsible for playing the run, has 2 gap responsibilities
Not sure if his height & pad level will hinder him, in having leverage against guards & tackles
On passing downs, I can see them bringing in Tank Carradine (or Aaron Lynch), to get after the QB

** I don't think both Lynch & Carradine make the final roster, it will be one or the other
** I'm not exactly sure what position Ronald Blair would play on the D-line
** I'm curious what you guys (and Lady Tee), think ???
** Edit: Damn I didn't realize Blair had 3 sacks last year, dude played better & had better numbers than Tank & Lynch. Humm interesting

The Film Room Ep. 35: DeForest Buckner is (almost) unblockable

He has to lower his attack, while working or that swim move.. Question do you have a similar break down on Arik Armstead because to me him and Earl Mitchell are going to define how well our defense comes together...

Nah I didn't see a video breakdown of Armstead
But they both seem to be similar players to be, except Buckner is a better pass rusher
I'm not sure how well Armstead will play, as a left side DE, going up against double teams, and losing leverage in the run game

The more I think about it, I could see Armstead being Buckner's backup (as crazy as that sounds)
They would both play that 3-tech right side DT position
Armstead on running plays, Buckner on passing plays

Ronald Blair might actually be more suited to play that left side DE position
His height, weight, speed, and power are a perfect match for that spot

And Earl Mitchell has always been a very average/mediocre nose tackle
But hopefully he can step his game up for us

But wasn't Armstead supposed to be a super run stopper? I know he was never a sack artist..

Supposed to be!
But he had a slight problem with pad level & leverage, his first year, just like Buckner
Plus the coaching staff asked him to lose weight this offseason
So I'm not sure if that will hurt him being stout against the run :dunno:

Not a big fan of drafting Pac 12 defensive players, especially from Oregon so to do it two years in a row....:smh:
Maybe they know something I don't know....

Here's a recently picture of Arik Armstead
Notice the weight loss, dude looks skinny compared to Buckner
Buckner looks like a damn beast
I really don't know how Armstead will hold up against double teams after losing weight

In the picture:
Buckner --- Armstead --- Tartt --- Dial

I don't know what losing weight is supposed to do, unless they are thinking of switching his position, because he always been fast and very athletic.. His problem as you stated is his technique in particularly playing too high

Better Rivals podcast: Offensive Line 101. Basic principles of run blocking and pass protection

(I had to listen to this twice to understand all the different run/pass schemes. Also I think Baalke might have messed up drafting Josh Garnett.)

The 49ers have the cap space to put the squeeze on Washington...
https://www.ninersnation.com/2017/7...tion-tag-rumors-roster-bonus-49ers-washington

The Kirk Cousins Saga Continues: Monday afternoon is the deadline for Washington to sign him

Washington and quarterback Kirk Cousins have until Monday to negotiate a contract extension, after which they have to wait until the end of the season. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport is hearing that barring anything unforeseen, Cousins will play this season on the franchise tag.

If he does play out the year on the tag, the question becomes what the next step will be in the Cousins contract process. The possible results next offseason include the following:

  • Contract extension with Washington
  • Washington franchises him a third straight year, he signs the tender, gets $34 million fully guaranteed
  • Washington franchises him a third straight year, and they trade him - it would be an exclusive tag, so he could not otherwise negotiate with other teams
  • Washington uses the transition tag - Cousins can then sign an offer sheet elsewhere and if Washington doesn’t match, they get no compensation
  • Washington does nothing and he becomes an unrestricted free agent

Fucking Jimmy Ward..... :smh:

I knew that mofo Ward could not stay healthy !!!
That's why I wanted to draft Malik Hooker, in the 1st round
The coaches put all their eggs in 1 basket by picking Solomon Thomas, but passing on Malik Hooker & Budda Baker

But looks like Jimmie Ward just has a minor hamstring injury
He might only need a couple days rest (lets pray)
Can't run a single high safety defense, without a single high safety, LOL
Stay healthy Jimmie.....

Now For The Good News:

Wake up people Football season is finally here !!!
First day of practice started today

1. Solomon Thomas finally signed his contract
So no rookie holdouts for us, like Joey Bosa did with the Chargers

2. Reuben Foster is a 100% healthy full go for practice
Also he just had an interception return for a touchdown, on the first day :D
He picked off CJ Beathard
