Rules of the Board

First off, let me extend to all that come my sincere welcome and apology. Welcome to the "New" Politics and Topics of the Day Board; and my apology that all of those great threads of debate and comment didn't make it across the diaspora. Nevertheless, the same rules apply:

Rule Number 1. No "Personal Attacks" between users. Of course, at some point we all may be guilty of being a bit over zealous in making our points and sometimes frustration may lead to someone accusing another of being .... well ... lets just say, less than intelligent. LOL. Nevertheless, I think it is important that the discussion remains civil and that we avoid the personal attacks.

Rule Number 2. If you must resort to personal attacks to prove your point or disprove someone else's opinions, etc., then perhaps you need to take that to the BGOL board where talking shit is not only tolerated, but expected.


Rule Number 3. No "N" words. If you can't express yourself without resort to calling your fellow brother or sister an "N" -- then you don't belong on this board.

Now lets get it on and re-make this board what it was before.

Its not the moderator's lack of enforcement, its grown assed men (or what should be grown men) too willing to throw bricks at each others character rather than confronting each others ideas and either co-signing, supporting or turning them on their heads. I watched a particular thread where YOU and BCK went back and forth like two cats trying to out meow the other -- then expecting me to step in and enforce the rules against personal attacks. I will not hold grown folks hands -- but if grown folks can't control themselves, someone could wake up one morning needing a new username.

You're right; it was meant to resound. It was an acknowledgement that this board is useless without diverse opinon from as many contributors as possible; and the statement was meant to convey an invitation to let us hear more from you -- and I ended with the (???) as if to ask, will we. LOL

Que have you ever read the "****** Bible" by Robert H. Decoy. It changed the way I view the word. I only mention it because I read your rules for the first time (sorry). And I may have violated them unintentionally. I am just wondering what your stance on the word is. I generally don't use it socially unless I am extremely comfortable with the individual. I never use it professionally. But over the net I never saw it as disrespectful to other black people.

POSTING FRAMES

Please do not post from news, etc., sites that you are not familiar
with by FRAMING the articles, etc. Some sites, (Wikipedia and others)
use codes (javascript I am told) that causes the frame to consume the
entire thread and no other posts within that thread can be viewed.

DYHAWK - that is what has happened to your "Latin America" thread.

If you want to post a frame, please do the following:

After putting in the URL, click "Preview Post"; wait until the frame
fully loads. If the frame consumes the entire screen, Click the "Back"
button on your browser until you get back to the screen that you
began your post and delete or remove the frame post.

If you do not go back (while you are still in the same browser that
you posted the frame) in cannot be removed and it will ruin the
entire thread.

NOTE: failure to do this WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING BANNED !

What if people post just videos & no text with it?

I know MASTERBAKER posts a couple of them everyone once in a while & they rarely have any additional text with them which irritates me since I like to read more than watch news.

I'm cool with vids being posted as long as their is a commentary to it or some news article to accompany it.
