What machine do consider the best for Cardio & Burning Fat? I'm thinking the treadmill. What about the elliptical machine or bike?

TREADMILL WITH HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT) OF COURSE. THAT SHIT KNOCKS THE WEIGHT OFF FAST, WITH HEALTHY EATING.

elliptical since its low impact on the knees

i dont see my pick for the best which would be the stepmill. then again it depends on what youre trying to do. if youre ONLY goal is to drop bodyfat & you could give a fukk less about your resting heartrate then low intensity stepmill is the best. spares the joints & muscles but it gets at the fat. if youre training to improve your wind then i believe nothing comes close to running. biking is good but the treadmill would be best if overall cardio fitness is your goal (all my opinion, of course)

Good twist. I forgot about the step mill. I might have to switch to this over the stationary bike. Here is how my Cardio/Fat Burning regiment looks:
Monday: Treadmill - 5 minute sprint then 20 minute walk/jog
Wednesday: Stationary bike for Cardio
Friday: Sprints for fat burning and I'm guessing this helps my cardio also, I could be wrong though.

for burning fat alone...cardio isn't going to do it in the most effective manner..

The elliptical really worked for me.
20-30mins b4 each workout.

The treadmill gets it done in less time. I can burn 1000 calories in under 20 minutes. The bike is for those days when you're worn out. Elliptical is cool for folks with bad knees, but it still takes a while to get to that 1000 calorie mark.

What's a good way to measure the calories you burn? I just don't think the way they measure it on the treadmill is accurate.

A steady cadence at 8.0 mph @ 3.0 inch incline. Took me a loooong ass time to build up that kind of endurance.
Chase Bannon has a point about the calories being burned being inaccurate on the machines, but it's a good guide if you're watching your intake.

Damn dude. That's a pretty serious routine. I can't run 8.0mph in 5 minutes. LOL I usually put my incline at 6.5% running at 3.0 mph. I'm flat footed so it's hard for me to run. My ankles swell if I run. I've realized if I run at an incline, I don't have the swelling problem. I'm guessing I don't have a problem because with an incline the back of my feet don't touch the treadmill as much; therefore my ankles aren't taking abuse and I'm only running on the ball of my feet.

It is walking. Fast pace walking. I'm still trying to feel it out until I get to a comfortable level where I can go as fast as I can without stopping.

since swimming is not on the poll and is one of those effective ways to strip fat, the second most effective is a spin bike while taking a spin class.
but the science to it all is that the more lbm% you have the more fat you'll burn.

This is running. Like I said, it took me a loooooooong time to build up that endurance, and I can't run like that outside...only on the treamill.

Spinning ain't no joke. I feel like shit after it's done...but two days later my legs feel like I'm walking on clouds.....
It's also a plus that it's where you'll find the hottest spandex clad females at the gym

I've read a lot that walking in just as good as running. You're still burning calories. Running is only good for building good stamina.
THE JUMP ROPE!!! is the best cardio machine. Man I've dropped 60 lbs since I started this shit. Drop as many times as you can for 3 mins, break 1 min. repeat. I do 10 3 mins rounds 3 times per week, along with a dumbell workout and core work

The best way to do it is CIRCUIT TRAIN, if u lift or do anytype of resistance training in between your sets jump on the excercise bike or treadmill or even jump rope for five min. that way your mixing in cardio and weight training confusing your body for a better calory burn.

I run frequently and it drops weight pretty well. I run 5 miles 3-4 times a week at about a 7:30 minute mile pace average indoors on the treadmill and outside also. I alternate running the track, treadmill, trail courses, and the streets sometimes. On Wednesdays, I have been doing incline for my 5 miles, and it has been paying off.
Oh yeah....disclaimer....i'm in the .mil:lol:

Also if you incorporate jumping in your Circuit, then it will soak up your stamina faster.

i heard the best cardio machine was the row machine...and it's a full body workout.
I have a bike and Elliptical
but i prefer the Elliptical cause it does a little upper body as well.
With the bike i go backwards for the extra intensity

You are not burning 1,000 calories in 20 minutes doing that. Maybe our treadmills are different but I did 5.39 miles in a hour on a 3.0% incline and burned 709 calories.

for burning fat alone...cardio isn't going to do it in the most effective manner..
i used to like a good HIIT session on my recumbent bike. that shit was always a good fat burner,
but, for the last 5 weeks, i've been on the raw food diet.
this way of eating is the absolute truth. eating this way, you will lose fat without exercise and energy levels will go thru the roof.
all i do is hit my weights because i always was a bodybuilder. i build muscle at a rate faster than i ever have and i'm shedding fat at the same time (even though doing both at the same time was always considered impossible). :dunno:
fuck a cardio. :D

So I tried that 3.8mph at the highest incline thing....
FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE!!! You've got to be a athlete to go a whole hour doing that. The incline at Gold's Gym goes to 15...I'm not sure if that is level 15, or 15 inches, or 15 degree's. I've managed to go 4.0mph for 2 minutes at one period. I usually stayed between 2mph and 3mph.
I only did for 45 minutes, completed 1.90miles burning 551 calories.
