I started to eat healthier recently. Eating more raw food and juicing vegetables and shit. I can honestly say, i have felt a diffrence in my energy level, my allergies haven't been nearly as severe, i'm losing weight and i think i'm even sleeping better.

The only problem is, now when i work out at the gym, I'm weak as fuck.. Only a couple of weeks ago i was working out with
85-90 lbs dumbells on the bench, and today, i was struggling with my warm up set of 60 lbs. A few days ago, i could barely get 185 lbs of my chest on the bench with the straight bar.

I'm not trying to eat a bunch of meat with every meal, so does anyone know what are some healthy protein options. I hear there are some vegatables that have more protein than flesh, what are those and how should i prepare them. Any help would be appreciated.

I was just going to say it sounds like you are not getting enough protein. Lentils are your good friend. All beans really but lentils are easiest digested and most protein. Pigeon peas too. You can also sprout your lentils. Nuts and seeds are your good friend too. Soy products too. If you eat fish you can eat fish on a salad or something. If you are eating something you can throw nuts and seeds on it to boost the protein. If you are doing alot of smoothies and stuff, look into Ultimate Meal its good stuff. Also consider spirulina and bee pollen to supplement.

Do you eat before you workout or take a shake?

Not a PT or anything but it sounds like you need some carbs.

- Chick peas
- Lentils
- Seeds / nuts (small amounts)
- Tofu
- Low fat soy beverage
- IF you need to get some additional meat in your diet ... avoid the "red" ... and stick with 4 - 6oz (or whatever)-type servings of lean chicken and fish

The question is r u tryna eat healthy or lose weight. Eating healthy does not make you weak. Lack of carbs make you weak. If u r just eating healthy try some sweet potatoes, whole grains, etc. If you are doing some major cutting in a hurry Just use light weight and high reps. When u r cutting carbs like that you r going to be weak......no way around it.

My 2 cents......

your proplem can be many thing's going on, first thing could be that your body is going thru the detox stage, you can eat as much protien as you want it will not do much but make you grogy, what you need is fuel for your muscles and carbs will give you fuel.
why do you think people who run marathons eat pasta the night before the run, cause pasta is carbs and that will give you energy for your workout.

protein is only for bulding up your muscles

Like others have said...I would chalk it up to lack of protein and carbs.

Get a nice protein shake (think theres a thread on that)...and include Sweet Potatoes (great source of carbs) and carry some trail mix w/ you at all times.

its about being balanced

if you are busting nuts you will need more protein and carbs and also water. so if you aren't sexualy active our routine might work, but if you are on bgol yanking your crank or messing around with a woman, then you need to step up your carb and protein intake.
